The Rocky Horror Picture Show - Remake

As long as we recognize Lucas is washed up and most TV sucks, we'll all get along fine.

Casting has been done.

If you're worried about this being a bad idea, ease those concerns because this is being made for TV! What could go wrong?

A two hour TV movie based on a cult B movie based on a play filled with adult themes and sexual content stuffed into prime time? Those executives at Fox are fucking geniuses!

Too bad they can't cancel Firefly again while they're at it!

This means nothing to me, I didn't have any kind of attachment to the first one.

Ugh.

And, btw, Glee already did it

I spent three years on a cast playing Crim every Saturday night, and it doesn't mean shit to me either.

I think I saw half the movie once. Not all in a row, though.

That episode was a great night. My wife was WAY into Glee and trying to get me to watch. When they said they were doing Rocky Horror, she knew she could get me to watch with her.

It was fucking terrible. TERRIBLE. She admitted it and lost interest in the show after that.

I do for various reasons. I've always liked Tim Curry's work. I think the music is solid. It's oddly a movie that my way too conservative father ("Hollywood is nothing but drug users and homosexuals") really enjoyed. The live shows were always awesome. Etc.

But you don't need to have any sort of attachment to the first one to realize this is a terrible idea and just another one in a long line of bad ideas coming out of FOX.

For stupid levels this is on par with CMT deciding to do a made-for-TV remake of This Is Spinal Tap

Wow. They should remake The Big Lebowski as a TV film, too.

I suspect they'll fuck it up.

I hope it lasts longer than "Moth" or "Loserfly" or whatever that other show was.

Wow... I've been saying for a while that all this gnashing of teeth over the plight of the transsexual/transvestite was going to completely ruin TRHPS. Guess we'll see if I was right.

Is it weird that I believe the transsexual playing Curry's old role is way too feminine?

The local theatre that does RHPS shows has been sold, no idea if they'll continue doing shows. No commitment from new owner so "last chance" for the show that's been running since 1986, iirc, in our town.

So a bunch of us dressed up and went to the final show ("midnight" last night, which ended up being 1am as the 3rd of 3 consecutive showings). Completely sold out. More virgins than I would have guessed. Imagine it's "I've always want to see/do the show, and now my chance might be ending" so they finally did it.

I dressed up as Columbia (tap dance outfit), my wife was space alien Magenta. It was a lot of fun, but man it was a late night. Got home at 3:20am.
