Passes away at 81.

His Greatest Hits album was one of the first I ever owned, and it was on vinyl. (Late 70s)

The Coward of the County
The Gambler
Ruby
Lady
Islands in the Stream

Tons of great songs.

And this is from someone who generally hates country music.
“Every record been destroyed or falsified, books rewritten, pictures repainted, statues, street building renamed, every date altered. The process is continuing day by day. History stops. Nothing exists except endless present in which the Party is right.”

Know what Kenny Rogers said on the motorcycle trail?

You picked a fine time to leave me, loose wheel.
"Be bold, and mighty forces will come to your aid."

That song was the bane of my childhood existence
It's not me, it's someone else.
