Ok, discussion.

Let's assume that TA is the best RTS that has ever existed.

List 3 things that made it great, and that Supreme Commander BETTER incorporate.

My 3:

1. Recoverable unit wreckage.
2. Outstanding build queues. Could be slightly better (build this unit forever until I tell you to stop, etc), but best I've seen.
3. Support units that you could quickly set to patrol an area, and... they actually repair structures/clean wreckage/etc along their patrol route without having to be micromanaged. Could be better (ONLY repair, ONLY recover, etc), but best I've seen.

No clue on any of your requests.

If it's the same team I would assume those things will return. Why don't you hit their site and ask?

1. Succeeded in being about the only RTS I didn't hate.

I think that is enough for me :)

I've been playing quite a bit of TA lately.

If anyone wants their asses handed to them, let me know.

IIRC, you dislike older games with little eye candy no matter what. ;-)

I see. We'll forget your wholesale dismissal of UO because it wasn't as pretty as EQ.

I dismissed it because it sucks. I've seen it and didn't care for it. The reason EQ succeeded after UO was because it was a better game. Now, UO was a much earlier game and was dated when EQ came out and it's not UOs fault. It's just an old game that can't compete. I think, since you can do as much or more on EQ as you can on UO and get a prettier interface, EQ was a better game and should have replaced UO.

Opinions are like ass-holes....... And that's my opinion, deal. Even you, Malcom, can build a bridge and get over it.

Yea, nothing like leveling to 50 only to get your class nerfed. Woohoo for EQ!

In all fairness to UO, EQ wasn't really a new game when it came out. It was just a graphical mud; an overlay of 3D pretties on top of a game system the guts of which had been around for over a decade.

That having been said, UO sucked.

Bad administration does not make the game bad. Just bad leaders. One of the major reasons I left EQ was the direction it kept taking. Stupid hippie nerfing to keep everyone from whining about anything. Instant transport from point to point ruined the feel of a large world. Etc.

Somehow I missed this whole debate.

Take away graphics and please explain how EQ is better than UO.

Gameplay, 1st person always involves the user better than 3rd person.

BTW, this is an opinion. I feel this way. If you feel different. BIG FUCKING DEAL. Play UO if you want. Anything you say against this point will be opinion as well and will be taken as such. I agree to disagree on this point. Please, I enjoy a good debate, but lets at least understand that opinions are like assholes.
