Exclusive means something different to game publishers.

The new Tomb Raider WILL be coming to other platforms.

Intel on PC Gamers:
There are 711 million PC gamers in the world today. That's 1 out of every 10 people.

Upon hearing this factoid, Microsoft responded with "What's a PC?"

Phil Specter discusses Microsoft's PC/X-Box problem.

I'll grant him that some games are better on PC and vice versa based on graphics/controls. However, they should have invented the Steam box before Valve.

Interesting that he mentions "our biggest titles" coming to PC. One would think a Halo collection would do very well on PC.

Has Spencer ever shown up to work coked out of his mind? Has he ever made a team of programmers write HELLO WORLD a few hundred times in one night at gunpoint?

EDIT: After reading the article, he probably has shown up to work after sniffing some powder. I don't think he's killed anyone ... yet.

Any program created with UWP essentially has to be installed through the Windows Store. (Enabling a UWP app to be installed without the store requires making technical changes in a computer's buried registry.)

Eat a dick, Microsoft.

Re: Microsoft's Gaming Problem

MS attempts to explain wtf their gaming division is smoking.
"The new Gears of War Ultimate Edition is a DX12 disaster," wrote ExtremeTech.

"What went wrong with Quantum Break on PC?" asked Eurogamer.

On March 1st, Microsoft revealed that it would be bringing all its newest, biggest Xbox games to the Windows PC, starting with Gears of War, Quantum Break, Fable Legends and a version of the popular racing franchise, Forza Motorsport. But the PC versions of Gears of War and Quantum Break were buggy and broken from start.

Meanwhile, Fable Legends got cancelled entirely. Only the stripped-down, free-to-play Forza Motorsport 6 Apex managed to impress critics and fans at release.
This is painful to read. You know this cat drew the short straw during the office meeting. Here's the worst part.
Why push those games out at all if they weren't ready?

I think the truth is you have to start...it seems counter-intuitive and the answer seems obtuse, but you've got to learn by doing. You've got to push stuff out and you have to learn. Otherwise the problems are theoretical. Is this a problem or not a problem? We did it and it turns out it was harder than we thought, this was challenging or this other feature wasn't there, sometimes in ways you don't expect.

It's really not much more complicated than that.

Does PC Gamer have a monetary interest in not dissing Microsoft? I've seen some pretty intense bias from them before when it comes to their major advertisers.

Isn't that almost the exact reasoning they gave for Windows 8 and Metro?

There are some decent suggestions at that site, and some shitty ones.

I don't like the idea of a gaming only Windows or a Windows that shuts down random processes because you're gaming. For example, I'm at work, have Steam launched and I'm running Soda Dungeon and Shakes & Fidget, but those are hands off games running in the background while I work. I don't need Windows deciding what needs to be running and what doesn't.

I mean, MAYBE kill antivirus/firewall, if it's fucking with your packets. But what else do you need to kill? Cheating programs? Change the name of the executable... BAM security bypassed.
