Got my email to choose steam, or gog keys... and i click it... and I can't see anywhere to make that choice, it's just a list of all my rewards.

Help?

edit - Was screwing up in Chrome. Opened it in Edge, it was fine. Cripes.

You may have already made the choice. They first asked a while ago, iirc.

Nope, Edge showed a whole different layout, and it was obviously where to select from Steam or GOG.

Got all appropriate steam keys.

And before I print out some graph paper and begin the first game, I just want to say... DEATH AND DREK.

At least, that's the cursing I remember from when I first played 1 and 2 in the C64 back in 1986ish.

Oooo fun, and pretty, and hard. Half my party is already dead.

Thank you Gordon. I was also using Chrome and wasn't seeing the selection area.

Also, what are you playing? The game doesn't hit until the 18th? Are you playing the originals? The Beta?

BT1.

BT2 and 3 aren't ready until later this year.

I've been playing BT1 during lunch at work for a couple weeks. Fun as hell. Very pretty compared to how it used to look.

Tough as hell too.

Can you heal up in the Inns?

No. You have to find the healer. Hint: There's one near the starting inn the opposite direction of the shop...

The healers will heal everything.

The one shop, whose name I'm forgetting, will restore your MP.

The council(?) will advance your levels and teach you spells.

If you're out at night and want to skip the constant attacks, go into the original inn and leave it. It'll be daytime immediately.

Do you know where the first dungeon is located?

I know, but healers are expensive. Was hoping you could rest/heal at the Inn.

Healers are expensive, and they get more expensive as the game goes on.

Save your game often.

Once you get rolling, the city creatures can't really hurt you anymore.

Getting to that first dungeon is key to making the city "safer".

I forgot you weren't on the forums for a bit. We all backed the Kickstarter for Bard's Tale 4. So we're getting a bunch of stuff for free.

Although, you can get these remastered versions on Steam. ("The Bard's Tale Trilogy")

Bard's Tale 4 drops in 3 days.

We should maybe have a dedicated BT1 Thread? Or no?

I'll fire it up tomorrow. I've never played but I seem to have... all of them... now.

This was Malcom's random game rec, IIRC.

Malcolm can eat a bag of dicks. I, and probably a few others, played BT when it was originally released.

I played all three BTs when they were new and fresh as well. I have memory of graph papers, location spells, all black areas (no torches!), and staying up all night with friends to beat the games.
It's not me, it's someone else.

I have printed out graph paper, and put it on a clipboard.

And I didn't know to start the first map in the bottom right corner and now I have to start all over. :)
