You forgot evil.
Believe it or not, I had that and then erased it.

Most "lefties" that I know do not want to switch to Communism or Socialism, but they do want to combine some aspects of those systems into our own.

My question is, why do "righties" always feel the need to falsely proclaim what the "lefties" want? Why can't they just shut up and listen for once?

Because they tend to say crazy shit like this:
Most "lefties" that I know do not want to switch to Communism or Socialism, but they do want to combine some aspects of those systems into our own.

We're already WAY into Socialism as it is. To say they don't want to switch to it is pretty much ignorant. The only way that would be true is if they were out there pulling in the other direction - towards Libertarianism, for example - which they certainly aren't doing. Far far far from it.

Hell, even most of the Republican leadership are Socialists these days, nevermind the "lefties".

Let's be fair:

Would you listen to someone who claims to be morally and intellectually superior to you and then calls you a backwoods bible thumping idiot? Probably not.

AND

To imply that the left listens to the right is a joke...

-Demanding the people who won the elections compromise and "reach across the aisle"...or else.
-Call the people to their political right "Nazis".
-Proclaiming how they're going to move to another country if their candidate doesn't win.
-George Clooney's delusional speech at the Oscars about how liberals have never been wrong on any issue.
-Saying everyone who voted for Bush is an idiot.
-Calling anyone who supports any little thing out of the current administration a "Neocon".
-Refusing to acknowledge Bush as "their" president.
-Proclaiming their hatred for the war, but support for the troops and then throwing a party to celebrate the 2000th U.S. soldier killed.

That list could go on forever.

Oh, and don't think I'm not aware that a similar list could be made for the "righties".

I'm just saying that the lines of communication should be opened up both ways and right now I don't think either side is taking the other's calls.

Was picking up a buddy of mine from the airport yesterday. He says, "What do you think the United States would be like with a monarchy?

"What kind? Absolute? Limited? Ceremonial?"

"Absolute."

"Problem with absolute monarchies is there's only a fraction of a percent of a chance that the dude who's the monarch would actually do a good job. I mean, hell, look at all the position in Congress. They're less power than a monarch, there's hundreds of them, & they still run the country like shit. Can you imagine what would happen if you condensed all that power, multiplied it by a million, & gave it to one person?"

I'd be good because I would hardly ever touch anything, except for my harem of hot chicks which includes 5 identical Salma Hayak clones. Amongst others.

I just realized what this means.

They only want to force people to do it their way a little Not complete control over people, just a little bit.

Sitting around playing poker this weekend.

One of the guys at the table says, "You know the way to lower oil prices? Kill all the republicans!" Lots of chuckles at the table.

I probably shouldn't have, because I don't like talking politics 99% of the time with people in this region, but I had a couple beers in me and I was feeling funny, but I responded..."Typical liberal solution... any problem can be fixed with a high enough body count."

I'm so bloody brilliant.

But I won 2 out of the 3 games we played, so I suck in every way.

Pretty soon, we'll just amend that "life, liberty, and happiness" line to include gasoline.
