Culver's

Post by GORDON »

A midwest-region quick-service place. I first knew them for their fried chicken in Nebraska, but I think that's off the menu, now. Now famous for their "butterburgers," or some such.

Anyway, one just opened near me, in a quickly-developing suburb of Toledo. In the evenings the drive-through line goes out into the street for about a quarter mile. The city has had to install traffic redirect signs.

And all that being said, this is not the year for a restaurant to NOT have any kind of online ordering. No app, nothing. I will pass until they catch up with 3 years ago (15 years ago if you want to count online ordering pizza places).

We first had Culvers a few years ago driving up to North Dakota. Kids loved it. Parent approved. Like a burgery Chick-fil-a with ice cream.

They are now in our area, but not close enough for us to get a meal from.

Apparently they sucked at it

They're in trouble when they run out of boomers who don't require ease of ordering.

Culver’s wised up that those restaurants with apps are in a perpetual bidding war for your business. In n Out (the most profitable) has no app. Isn’t discounting and is thriving.
I go to Penn Station a lot less since they discontinued their app.
