Battle of the Decades tourney this week and next. They bring back the top dogs from each decade, starting with the '80s. Today was the return of Ken Jennings. De-fucking-stroyed the other 2 dudes.

Jennings apparently has admitted that he threw the episode when he lost. Something a lot of folks, including me, speculated since that episode, his 75th.

Ken wins his semi-final round. Automatically advances. He only won by a couple thousand this time.

Just when I think Trebek is getting old and stale.
On Wednesday night’s episode of "Jeopardy!," the gameshow host asked contestant Susan Cole of Maryland, what it is that sparked her interest in “nerdcore” hip-hop music.

Cole told Trebek that the genre is fun and catchy, with people rapping about things they love and relate to — things such as “video games, science-fiction — having a hard time meeting romantic partners,” she said.

Trebek was quick to mock Cole and her techie team.

“Losers, in other words...” he replied, ingiting [sic -- seriously FUCKING PROOFREADING] laughter from the audience.
MC Chris and Mega Ran respond. I'll be seeing both in about three weeks.

Bah. Not ice cold, just another old man too far out of touch with the rest of the world to still hold a relevant opinion.

He was smiling when he said it. I think he was joking and peeps are taking it wrong.

Thib's got a point about him as a person though. I've heard he can be an asshole.

Which is unusual for Sean, since Trebek isn't a woman.

Dude sets new Jeopardy 1 day record.

We've been watching his 4 days so far, and he's already up to almost $250k

He lost just shy of the record.

This show was taped in March. How do they keep this stuff a secret?

That's a good question, since there's an audience and such.
Boettcher, 27, works for the University of Chicago. She told the Chicago Tribune that she wrote her master's paper at the University of North Carolina in 2016 "on predicting the difficulty of trivia questions using 'Jeopardy!' clues." She wrote her undergraduate thesis at Princeton on Shakespeare's plays -- which came in handy on the final question.
Coincidence? ;)

She was really good. In fact, all three contestants were really good last night, only 1 missed question (oddly, a $400 question in double jeopardy)

It makes me irrationally happy when I get the final Jeopardy right and the contestants don’t.
