Which states are best?

According to Americans

Hawaii wins, which I don't feel is a surprise. DC loses, also not a surprise. Alabama was the lowest actual state, just beating Mississippi and New Jersey.

NC did surprisingly well.

I disagree with a lot of it. TO LIVE IN.... Hawaii is good if you want a lot of racism, overpriced groceries, and all of your neighbors being methheads.

I don't like people, I like nature. Utah is one of my top 5.

People like the idea of Hawaii. I'm guessing very few of the people responding had been there. And probably true of most other states. Most people probably associate Utah with SLC + Mormons, which is different than southern Utah.

NC has beaches, mountains, is a purple political state, and has great basketball teams. There's not much to directly hate, so people are like "Well, it's better than X" which they have a negative association with.

We had a great time in Alabama last time we went through. National forests, ocean access, and Mobile was like a mini-New Orleans.

But would you want to live there?

I'm guessing I could find a good spot SOMEWHERE in that state. And land will be super cheap.

And could still afford a warehouse loft in Mobile when I get tired of nature.

No.

That whole list is dumb. How can people vote on the quality of a place they've never been? Hawaii is overpriced and overhyped.
Go to the Caribbean for a far, far cheaper and better vacation.

Oops I accidentally edited your post instead of quoting. My bad.

This is a good answer. I'd live in the Florida Keys, if I could afford it.
