The thing that most people call "democracy" today is a ridiculous cry from the definition of the folk who invented the term.

I look at a country like I look at my workplace. Could we be 1000% better if exactly the right people were put in charge in the right places? Sure. But unless you know that magical formula for every circumstance, you're far more likely to stumble onto a mix of people and jobs that make shit only marginally better than overt corruption and anarchy.

Problem is that when you put your faith in a small group of folk to make things better, you don't get to hit the "load game" button when you figure out they can be just as bad as the assholes running things before.

I see the point, but then Churchill said, "Democracy is the worst form of government, except for everything else."

The only way anything will ever get any better around here is if they put me in charge.

Democracy is the 3rd best form of government

So what does that person propose? And they seem to be confusing the institution of present governments with democracy.
It's not me, it's someone else.

He also seems to have a problem separating political systems from economic systems.

Once read, "We don't live in a society, we live in an economy."
