Is 4G not LTE? I don't know. I don't pay a lot of attention to the phone tech. I probably have LTE.

Word.

But seriously, my phone tech knowledge is laughable considering my more-than-average PC tech knowledge.

4G is not LTE.

True. 4G is a tech that may be coupled with LTE, but they're often used interchangeably today.

I wouldn't say interchangeable.

4G is older and tech that all the phone carriers are moving away from for LTE and whatever comes next.

Speaking of that, its been a while since the last big leap there right?

What comes after LTE is 5G. What came before LTE was 3G. Ergo, LTE = 4G

Since it's been necro'ed, if you google 4G, you'll find that what is marketed as 4G, and LTE as well, fall far short of what 4G is actually spec'ed as. Basically, since the current tech was faster than 3G, they called it 4G. Even though it's not even close to being true 4G.

I'm digging "Messages from Web" functionality... it allows me to have a window open on my PC, and send/receive text messages on my phone while using an actual PC screen/keyboard. I can't type for shit on a phone, cant see the little errors, and my hands too big. I hit period (or n) when i mean to hit space.

Is that a Windows 10 thing, now? I used to have that with Hangouts, but they changed it.

It could be.... my phone literally asked me for the first time, last night, if I wanted to use it. You open a generic messaging window on the PC, it gives you a QR code, you scan it with your phone, BAM, linked.

It seems you have to rescan every time you want to use it, though. Minor annoyance.

There should be a button on phones that means "I'm cleaning the screen don't go crazy and open up settings and change a bunch of shit."

Besides the power button, I mean.

But how would you push the button that means "I'm done now"?

I'll never understand people who love these corporations. I mean, I really like Google and AWS, but I'm not going to buy shirts from them or send them happy birthday notices on Facebook. The whole Disney/Apple/etc lovefest just doesn't connect with me.

(I would totally wear FREE shirts + hoodies though. that's different)
