Awesome unless you're a six-year old dying of some easily preventable illness. Once you get past the age of majority and have a greater degree of control over what chems you can make use of (well, kind of), then it's helping natural selection along.

Nope, it still applies. If the parents are that stupid then the kid probably is, too, and the cull is legit. That's the whole point. If the kid were likely to be relatively not stupid while the parents are stupid then there'd be no point of culling idiots anytime and the whole theory of evolution falls apart.

I'm not putting enough credence in genetic intelligence to buy that one. Stupid people can still make smart children.

Can? Yes. Will? Unlikely. Like I said, that's basically the entire basis of evolution.

If you reject that basic point then you are rejecting the entire concept of selective breeding, natural selection, survival of the fittest, etc etc etc.

I'd like to see a slightly more civilized solution in which we don't sacrifice the kid because of the parents' stupidity. Some ignorance is genetic, a lot of it is conditioned. I'd even consider if parents dont want to vaccinate their first kid, take the kid and sterilize the parents.

But it's too late, the parents have already reproduced.

No point in burning down the barn when the horses have already escaped. Or something like that.

Intellectual potential might be genetic. I'd argue intellectual achievement on the other hand has to do with environment a motherfuckshittonload.

Environment is certainly a factor, but I suspect I'd rank it as less important than you would. Honestly I'd rate random chance (i.e. non-family external influences like friends, teachers, personal interests and hobbies, etc etc ad nauseum) over environment in terms of the parents.

Sounds like environment to me. The things, both living and not, around you with which you interact.

Sure. But I bet I still rate it as less important than you do.

Anyone die of it yet?

What I'm asking is are any of the anti-vaccer parents that caused this morally responsible for murdering a child yet?

It would be an involuntary manslaughter case at worst.

Legally it probably wouldn't even be that. But morally they share equal responsibility among the group.

If I were somehow a victim of an anti-vaxer parent, I'd be suing the shit out of them.

I can't believe this is still a thing.

Ok, so if we're talking about magic meds that make natural things go away that you SHOULD fucking force on people...
The AAP study involves a random sampling of about 630 members in 2006 and again in 2013. They found that in 2006, 75 percent of pediatricians who responded had encountered parents who refused vaccines. By 2013, it was up to 87 percent.

That’s a big change, but the more interesting part of the survey is why.

In 2006, the No. 1 reason parents were refusing vaccines was because of concerns about the ingredient thimerosal causing autism. In 2006, 74 said it was about autism. In 2013, that number had declined to 64 percent.

Now, more parents are refusing the vaccine on the grounds that they are “unnecessary” — 73.1 percent in 2013 vs. 63.4 percent in 2006. Moreover, even parents who believe in vaccines appear to be delaying the shots that are supposed to be given on a strict schedule to maximize their effectiveness. Seventy-five percent of pediatricians said that parents asked for delays because of worries about their child's "discomfort" and 72.5 percent because of a concern "for immune system burden."
Unnecessary? Probably the same parents that will bitch out their kids if they don't wash their hands before eating. Come on, work that immune system.

Insane vaccination skeptic bitches about his weak immune system. Oh by the way, he's a doctor at ... wait for it ... the Cleveland Clinic.
The source of Daniel Neides’s vitriol was a flu shot that left him feeling unwell. The physician was particularly incensed, as he wrote in a column at Cleveland.com, because although the vaccine was billed as preservative-free it contained the compound formaldehyde. He insinuated that the organic compound was the cause of a 48-hour malaise that kept him in bed and out of the office.
...
And in a statement later communicated via hospital representative to the Cleveland Plain Dealer, Neides offered an apology. “I apologize and regret publishing a blog that has caused so much concern and confusion for the public and medical community,” he said. “I fully support vaccinations and my concern was meant to be positive around the safety of them.”
Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight.
Neides is the director of the hospital’s Wellness Institute, which promotes healthy lifestyles through “world-class medical care and quality wellness programs”; the Institute’s website advertises homeopathic detox remedies and a gluten-free Florida retreat. It is under the umbrella of the larger Cleveland Clinic.
Vaccinations and gluten = bad, homeopathic bullshit = good. Glad that's out of the way.
Neides, in addition to damning formaldehyde, raised the specter of the widely debunked claim that there is a link between vaccine and autism. “Does the vaccine burden — as has been debated for years — cause autism?” the doctor wrote. “I don’t know and will not debate that here.” Still, Neides went on to write that the aluminum in vaccines “can be incredibly harmful to the developing nervous system.” He also said the medical benefits of vaccination should not come at the “expense of neurologic diseases like autism and ADHD increasing at alarming rates.”
How is this fucker still licensed to practice medicine? Oh well, at least there are other dipshits in high places who have his back.
Trump also tweeted in 2014 that, “Healthy young child goes to doctor, gets pumped with massive shot of many vaccines, doesn’t feel good and changes — AUTISM.”
