We want to Montreal for 5 days, first.tine there for my kids and wife. I hadn't been since I was a kid.

It's friendly like Canada, a bit Frenchie, but you really don't need any French to get around, so that was nice.

In fact, the first restaurant we went to the waitress got really confused because I ordered something in French, and she only spoke Chinese and English. We we're in China Town

The whole time we were there, we neve used Canadian money. Never handled it, never exchanged. There were two cash only places we want. We left one, and the other took our grubby American dollars.

Fun town. If we went back, would probably aim to spend that time on the river or the national park an hour north.

Also went to Mount Washington, which was awesome despite being clouded in and 38 degrees with 40mph winds and 50mph gusts. Much more dramatic than Mount Mitchell despite being lower elevation

And we spent 2 days in Boston beforehand. I thi k we heard sirens about every hour or two in Boston. And about twice overall in Montreal. Honking had a similar ratio.

Parking in both towns sucks ass

My only experience in Canada is Windsor casinos and strip clubs.

When I lived in Detroit, that was my experience as well.

The strip clubs are (were?) better in Montreal. Been a while.

You didn't find time to visit them on a family trip? Weird! :D

A friend of mine had his bachelor party in Montreal last year...
Me: Yeah, I'm not going to ask your advice on where to go on my trip
Him: Good idea.

This is such a fantastic example of politics. Doesn't matter what side of the aisle you're on, and I don't even know who is who in this clip. (Although, I do make an assumption about who is who.) Politicians are simply assholes who serve only their own interests.

When people use Canada as an example of a well run country it's such a great sign that they don't know what they're talking about.

Someone please show me how Canada has not fully embraced fascism. Because all I see out of them is a government tightening its authority over the masses at every turn. Silencing free speech everywhere they can. Remember, they used banks to identify financial supporters of that trucker protest so they could punish them by freezing all of their assets. Now they're enacting laws where if you say anything against the alphabet community, you go to jail and/or get fined $25k.

Also, today I learned about "2S". I love that they put it at the front to further squash those uppity LGB folks who have been complaining about their movement being hijacked by woke gender ideology.

It wasn't that long ago that they were worth more than the US dollar was it?

Going back to this... I posted this in the Canada thread. What else would she have been talking about?

Not sure where you shop, but those prices still suck. Eggs are way less than $2/dozen here. I think $1.19 is the last price I saw.
