RAID 0 is disk-striping, any # of disks. There is no data redundancy or cheksums whatsoever. It basically is a way of making (for example) 2 120GB drives behave like a single (and faster) 240GB drive. In Windows XP, it can be any # of drive partitions combined together, but they all have to be of t...

Formerly unknown to me, Windows XP provides free software-based RAID 0. I decided to try it out this weekend, as I'm adding a new drive to a machine. The basic instructions are here. Overall, it worked very well, except I made one careless mistake and wiped out one entire drive. Here is a more comp...

However, sometimes you might want to make an exception and permit someone to connect to your computer. For example, the following scenarios describe occasion...

Yeah, nothing happened here, 'cept the mall and some places are closed.

On the other hand, I did get to kayak in the middle of a thunderstorm this past week. Once the lightning was under 3 mississippi it was a bit nerve-wracking.

I got an academic scholarship that covered my $2k/yr tuition costs, and had a 30-hr week job that paid up to $9 for other things. My wife, a minority (with better high school grades than I had), got paid to go to school. And yeah, MIS degree = not much in the real world from the ones I've had work ...

Catt's back, today was last day anyways, and we got up at 5:30 to beat the mandatory evacuation rush.

Prior to mandataory, it was "voluntary evacuation." Isn't every day a voluntary evacuation? "Looks like rain, I'm going in-land to shop"

I've no idea. At $19, I figgered maybe it was worth it to someone to experiment. Even if just the keyboard and mouse work, then it's a good deal. By the way, tigerdirect.com has a reputable... ummm... reputation. True, $19 not bad for the mobo/case/power. But until they come out with a matching $19...
