I feel like that's every review these days. That or "just utter garbage."

The Atari 2600 had a switch to go between 3 and...2 or 4? In case you had a really strong actual TV station nearby on one of them, you could switch to the other. Kinda like on wifi now I guess?

Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny (2023)

It's funny, it's been observed recently that Indiana Jones's presence in that film didn't change the outcome of anything, but in reality the Nazis may never have found the Arc at all if Indy hadn't figure out where it was correctly. Because THEY WERE DIGGING IN THE WRONG PLACE lolololol. They would...

Peak 80s

I saw a video recently that claims that they ("they") wanted to get Huey Lewis to do the Ghostbusters theme. I think it's also true that they ("they") wanted to get Eddie Murphy to play Winston (he couldn't tho bc Beverly Hills Cop), and bc they thought he would do it, they didn'...

This topic came up at work recently and one guy had an answer immediately: 1984 I said in the movies thread I think I agree. Supporting arguments: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/1984_in_film Beverly Hills Cop, Ghostbusters, Temple of Doom, Gremlins, Karate Kid, Police Academy, Footloose https://en....

(Spoiler, we sorta had a thread like this in Movies, so no peeking)

In your opinion, what year was "Peak 80s"? Show your work; criteria are up to you. I'll save my opinion for after everybody has a chance to chime in.

Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny (2023)

This weekend I re-watched Raiders and Temple (might hit Crusade later). God, Temple is even worse than I remembered. Except for the opening sequence, it is just GLACIAL. And it went too far with the slapstick comedy, while also trying to be gross and suspenseful. The Dinner of Disgust in particular ...

My wife wanted to go see it (says she really likes PWB  ). I was prepared to hate it but instead it was just "meh." A couple random thoughts: - The de-aging wasn't actually that bad...maybe they should just make pure CGI Indy movies. Hell most of the movie looked like it was green-sc...

My wife was re-watching the last season of Game of Thrones, and I sat down during the zombie battle of Winterfell. This is the correct response.

One of my favorite parlor-trick trivia questions is:

What singer had 3 top-10 hits that were also movie theme songs? Bonus points: name them.

You now know the first one, so name the other 2.

Even if they are the same, do you believe Sheeran's argument that eventually songs will be very similar as there's only so much that can be created? Yes except not "eventually," have you ever listened to AC/DC? I don't necessarily believe that Sheeran intentionally ripped off Gaye. ...
