Bad Economic Predictions

What's propane? I want to say slightly under $2. I filled up grill and firepit and was really surprised how low it was. But to get a good deal you need to go to one of the facilities near the refinery and not the gas station swaps. I meant what is propane? We only use NG. Tanks are for suckers. :P ...

Cutting checks to 2/3rds of them, at least.

There is some question as to whether the COVID relief dollars the federal government sent our way played a big role. I think ... duh? We'll return it if the other states do :)

Rust - A thread for dying

This latest round of skins was not thought out well. Many of the streamers are Asian and are only on late at night for the U.S. market. They should be mixing these up so that there's a good mix of streamers from each continent. Everything looked shitty but DO NOT MISS OUT on Abe's ninja suit. The b...

Whatever Newsom's chances were for a recall before this week... CA's pretty unexpected $75B budget surplus last year is going to wipe it straight away. Unless he spends all $75B at the French Laundry. e: this is a link subforum: https://www.nytimes.com/2021/04/28/business/california-budget-stock-mar...

I'd like to see the number of unfilled jobs. There are 8.1M job openings in the US right now. That is a record, pre-pandemic, post-pandemic, or otherwise. Wow, buyers job market. I guess if you were going to hold out for a wage that would stick with you for a few years, this would be the time.

Damn for 30 bucks I feel like you could get plenty of guys who have been doing the trade for many years in Cali. His English wouldn’t be great though.

I don’t have many thoughts on unemployment - thankfully have not needed it.

This is a magic vs steampunk show on Netflix. Kinda Fantasy in the Napoleon era. Based on a few series of books by the same author. The first season of the show is surprisingly decent, I watched it all fast. The books aren't as good, I didn't finish the first one before moving on to another author. ...

This sounds like me being an elitist I guess, but from being a waiter, barback, bartender: 1) You are sick all the time 2) You never get to mingle with regular people during social times because you are at work 3) You make 2.45 an hour. Bad night, no tips? Fuck you. 4) The bathrooms don't clean them...

"So restaurant industry ruined my life and left me wageless and jobless for ~1.5 years." I've always said the restaurant industry shouldn't' be allowed to enslave people against their will. Working at the average bar/restaurant unless you are the owner is like going to a Check Cashing Pla...

We have historically wiped out viruses with vaccine efficacy levels in the 60s.

Hopefully the 95% efficacy number(insane) will offset the idiots, who really like to ignore that medical science and vaccine breakthroughs got us to the densely connected and populated world we live in today.
