Their "civilizations" were absolutely screwed over by the introduction of foreign diseases... which is no ones fault, it was 300 years before anyone knew what a virus was.... but I do have sympathy for them over all the treaties that were broken with those who survived, over and over.

Unless the natives figured out germ theory on their own prior to meeting the rest of the world, in spite of having no known record of any kind of medical science or scientific method, they were still going to be screwed.

They were lucky to have lasted as long as they did.

I think they build to last the 3-year warranty. Anything else doesn't make sense for them. Planned obsolescence as a marketing strategy is a well documented thing.
