Alternately, we could just go take over France. They should be a pushover.

What would we do with all those annoying Frenchmen, though?

I think we need to found America II at the intersection of the borders of as many countries as possible, each of which we've made a land deal with. That way if one country goes back on the deal and screws us over before we consolidate our power base we can pull back into the rest of America II and ...

If St. Louis II needs a Metrolink II, then they can damn well pay for it themselves, however they see fit.

Immediate and innevitable are open to interpretation on a case-by-case basis, but the interpretation is fairly limited. I like it.

I just shut it down, and I'll deal with it tonight when I get home. I'm sure it's not important. To be honest, I only got two boxes (one of each shape above), but Explorer was wonked so that it wasn't refreshing the background. Moving the boxes around resulted in the artifacts you see in the screen...

'Fahrenheit 9/11 ' opened Friday in Poland to some early reviews comparing director Michael Moore's polemical style to the heavy-handled propaganda of the country's former communist rulers.

From here.

I've never seen one of those newer cables before. I'm using all old ones.

Well, there's one mystery solved.

18 minutes, is that an exaggeration? Well, specifically it's 17 minutes and 54 seconds last time I timed it. Is your system a laptop? I wasn't aware they made 4500rpm desktop drives. And Zet raises a good point... always make sure you are running higher than ATA-33, and get your media drives (CDRom...

Well, I've been wondering for awhile now why, no matter what operating system and hardware I've got on the computer, it takes an average of 18 minutes to boot up from power-on, and most programs took ages to get going. I never realized before, but the HD is the only constant through all of that. Hm...

It really made a big difference? I've got a 800MHz system with 640Megs RAM, and it doesn't act like it. The only piece I haven't upgraded in longer than I can remember is the hard drive.

Maybe it's time.

Here's an interesting fact for you. Did you know that this picture is often mistaken as a representation of the signing of the Declaration when in fact this is depicting the presentation on June 30th of the Declaration from the subcommittee that drafted it (Jefferson, Adams, Franklin, Livingston an...

I was there. It was neither light nor a comedy. I must beg to differ, sir, on three points: 1) Firstly, this isn't really a light comedy. Oh, it has plenty of lighthearted moments, but I'd say far less than half the film could be called lighthearted or comedic. 2) Furthermore, many of the quips in ...

I'm not great at reviewing movies in any sort of detail, but I agree with much of what is said here to one extent or another.

I would say that this movie should be required viewing for anyone wanting to partake of America II in any form or fashion.

Well, this is America II, right? We can do it however we want. Maybe we should make it so that failure to instill proper morals into children, as measured by their behaviour, is termed as child neglect ... i.e. punish the parents with the children, but instead of calling it "co-punishment"...

So what's wrong with the education system in America, today? Everything. In my entire education (kindergarten through bachelor's degree) I only had three teachers that actually had any idea how to teach. 1) Find some way to get parents to give a damn. Can we incentivize that somehow? 2) Pay your te...

The problem with using MSN to get to him is once he notices it's active he'll just kill it and disable it if he doesn't want to be bothered. Anything else useful on it to get to him with? Is it WiFi? Where was it lost? Any hotspots nearby to check at when you see him/her on? Would your cousin know ...
