I missed it when it was all hyped up, and I'm trying to not buy any more paperbacks, but then I saw this hardcover on sale at Target, 30% off.
Yoink.
I haven't seen the movie and have avoided spoilers.
Good, light read. Plays into my long distrust of organized religion. I got through it in about 72 hours; it was good enough that I took time to get through it instead of getting good nights sleeps. Overall, a very tight book... nothing extraneous. Everything that happens is directly related to the plot.
If anyone wants to get into a discussion of plot points, start a spoiler thread.

I read this one and Angels and Demons, which is about the Church vs. the Illuminati. That one had some serious technical howlers in it.
I can't remember which one of these two books has a character say that Christianity took the whole "eating your God" idea from Meso-American Indians. What-evah.
But other than that, I did enjoy reading the books. So it ain't literature. Big deal.

Problem w\ "The DaVinci Code" is that it seems to be the only plot the dude can dream up & he recycles it in about every book he writes.
Or so I've heard. I've not read his shit.

I've read four of his books, which apparently is all of them.
He has one basic structure that he repeats in every single book. It's mainly about the bad guy, and I don't want to say too much lest it be a spoiler.
Digital Fortress felt like the "I wish I were these people" book of his career, everyone is not just smart, but a genius. Everyone is not just attractive, but model-good-looking.
DF had several technical issues that any good computer person would groan over, but was a quick and easy read.
They're all enjoyable enough as reads, but get repetitive if read too close together.

I have only read DaVinci Code but I really enjoyed it. Fun light read which damns religion, its all good. The movie itself was decent but the best thing that came from it was all the related things that History channel (and others) showed when it was getting released.
