Dogball

As long as we recognize Lucas is washed up and most TV sucks, we'll all get along fine.

Nothing really wrong with it. VERY funny stuff. Very Zoolanderish. There were a coupld times where they forced a one liner in where it didn't fit. I didn't laugh as often as I did with Old School. But I did laugh as hard at times, if not harder. I gave it an 8, because I have seen better movies (Starsky and Hutch), but it's one I'll definately be owning. The funny stuff you see in the previews becomes even funnier in context.

Go see it. It's funny.

Well hell. Just noticed how I butchered the name in the thread title. . . but I can't fix it. So, check out the small brain on Cakedaddy.

You shouldn't have said anything. I didn't even noticed. I saw the title and thought it was correct to.

When you all own movies, do you really watch them again and again? How many movies do yall own?

Just curious, cuz there's about 5 movies I've seen more than once in my life, it's just something I don't understand.

I have about 300 DVD's 5 feet from me. It's like having a library full of books. Which I also have a lot of. Maybe I'll reread those books, maybe I won't. But I like having a book collection.

Make sense?

Own about 100. Watch most many many times. Others have only been viewed a few times. When there's nothing on TV, pop in a movie. When friends/family are over, pop in a movie someone hasn't seen. Have watched the same movie more than once in the same day. If the movie makes you laugh, why not watch it more than once so you can keep laughing at it?

"Let's get out of here before one of those things kills Guy!!" Makes me laugh every time I hear it.

Ah, I don't re-read books either. Once I've read them, they can leave - which is why I usually just get them from the library.

I've got the long-term memory of a fruit fly, so rereading and rewatching things is almost like the first time for me each time.

I don't have a library of DVDs, though, cause I couldn't pick which one's to buy. That's the main reason I subscribed to Netflix, that's my DVD library. Someone else keeps track of them and I pick the one's I want to see next.

I want to see this movie. That part where the guy gets checked in the face with a wrench? THAT I have to see ... and I did catch the "Dogball" error. Funnyfunny.

Movies that are worth owning are the ones you absolutely know you will never tire of ... maybe I'm nuts, but for me it's "The Godfather" trilogy. Even though it's been shown heavily on Bravo & TNT like every other weekend for years, and I know it backward, still, if I'm surfing? If any other program doesn't catch my interest, it wins by default, and my favorite is No. 2. Anyway I got that for my wedding anniversary last week, bought for hubby all 3 Extended release versions of "LOTR".

I also picked up a few of the classics for my daughter ... I'll refrain from sharing what they are out of fear of being mercilessly laughed at ...

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the extended version of Return of the King hasn't been released yet and won't be until September. This is an issue for me because I have yet to see the film, and I'm waiting for the extended version before I watch it. If its out, then my wait is over.

However, I've only ever seen extended versions for the first two movies in the stores and I visit Best Buy every week.

I stand corrected: I have the "Enhanced" of ROTK. Just the first 2 are the "Extended Release" version. :)

How is it "enhanced"?

This was the first one where I don't have an interest in getting the theatrical release before the extended version. On the first two I couldn't wait for the extended release and went ahead and bought the first release. With Return, I thought the theatrical release wasn't quite ready for release.

I thought the the first release already had extra footage in it. Then the final release has all the extra movie footage. I thought it was silly to buy it as soon as it came out. Why not wait.

I'll have to check it out. If they fixed some of the holes, I might rent it.

My guess is that if they advertised, "footage not seen in theaters" on the initial dvd, that it was special "making-of" featurettes.

I'd bet money the dvd that has been released is exactly what was shown in American theaters.

That's what I saw, just what was shown in the theater. I think there was a behind-the-scenes thingy, but we didn't watch that part.

Interesting, though, that as more people decide to hold off the purchase in favor of the true EE version, that they are trying to obfuscate the issue. Peeps here aren't sure whether or not the dvd version that's out has additional footage. I don't recall that being an issue with the first two movies' initial releases.
