That storm went over us as well.
Here's something I wrote my family about the storm. I didn't know about the tornado when I wrote it.
(Amber is my 2 1/2 year old daughter)

Early this morning, when it was still dark out, a large thunderstorm came through, dumping a lot of rain, illuminating the house with flashes of lightning, and making a lot of noise. The storm woke up Amber, who came to our bed. She asked what the noise was. When we told her "thunder" she got scared. I didn't know why. She used to love thunder.

After a few minutes she said "Thunder like in Bambi."

Ah! I think in the Bambi book we had been reading her they liken Man's guns (which killed Bambi's mom) to thunder. That was why she was afraid.

We told her it was "good thunder."

Then Amber asked for something to drink but when I got out of bed to get it, she pleaded with me to come back. She *really* didn't want me to go. I think she thought that the thunder would get me like it got Bambi's mom. I assured her that the good thunder was harmless, and that I'd be right back. Then I made my trip to the kitchen as quickly as possible.

Ha ha!
My Mom wrote back, and said something like "Isn't there a bunny named Thunder in Bambi?"

If it wasn't for her totally fraking out when I was going to get her drink, I'd think that maybe my daughter mistook "Thumper" for "thunder."

When we get to the part in the book were Bambi's mom gets killed, she makes be flip to an earlier page, and says "There she is!" before I can continue on.

In a tragedy everyone dies together, Christians, Jews, Hindu, Black, White, or Purple. If an infant screams and cries for help in a language that is not English or a color that is not white, would God ignore his screams?
God is love – let us leave the judgments to Him!

In case you haven’t read the bible:

I could quote at you all night but maybe it would be easier if you read the bible for yourselves. Check it out online at www.bible.com you can also get New Testament bibles free through www.gideons.org/

"Do not judge and you will not be judged? Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven. # Luke 6:37

... He will not judge by what he sees with his eyes, or decide by what he hears with his ears; Isaiah 11:3

See also Matthew 7:1 and Romans 3:23

I hope that you can grow spiritually form these links, and read the bible for yourselves! Currently, bibles are printed in almost every language and have even been simplified so that almost any literate person could understand {I have concluded that you are all literate despite the grammatical errors: def. – mistakes of or relating to grammar – see also http://webster.com/dictionary/grammar for the definition of grammar). I recommend that you try the “The Living Bible” or the “New Living Translation.” These versions are easier for beginners to understand and will clear up some of your misconceptions.
I offer you my best wishes in growing your faith, and I hope to remind you that a strong faith relies on a stronger foundation. As the bible commands, we must not be false teachers, but rather we should be humble and leave judgments to the Lord.

I am always amused that uneducated people (presumably Baptists/Pentecostals from Arkansas or wherever fundamentalists live) claim to know God's will and claim to be the ultimate authority on God. Thanks for the laugh!

/I would recommend a college education
//or at least high school diploma at least before you make sweeping claims about entire regions of the U.S.A.

Know what's funny?

The guy names himself "Like God would talk to you!"

And in his post he says "I am always amused that uneducated people (presumably Baptists/Pentecostals from Arkansas or wherever fundamentalists live) claim to know God's will and claim to be the ultimate authority on God. Thanks for the laugh!"

I guess he is claiming to know God's will.

Heh.

You know, I always thought this "/" stuff was for RPG commands. For example, in EverQuest, anything you typed in the text box was something your character said, unless you began your text with a / command.. Lately all the little turds in Fark comments use them for snarky remarks.

By the way: if you can find a grammatical or spelling in my posts, it is 99% certain that they were intentional, for the sake of humor. And odds are I have 10 years more education than you do, so have a nice glass of STHU.

That'd be a fun little social experiment.

Who is more likely to kill: a religious person or an atheist?

What I find funny, is that he quoted the part about not judging and stuff. Yet, his whole post seems VERY judgemental to me.

Here's a clue. Offer help, but don't do it in such a condesending way. It might be more affective.

But he's one of God's Chosen, it's his devine mandate to judge you, nay a Duty! That whole not-judging thing only applies to you Godless Heathens who will be burning in Hell when the Trumpets call the True Believers home reall soon now.
