Got it. Thanks!

Your farm is in missed payment status. I think Stranger wanted that?

Tried fishing for the first time tonight. Got an invite for some deep sea fishing. It's not too bad. 2.5g for a rod, 20 badges per lure. First lure was a bust. Second lure netted an 18k HP fish that sold for 8.5 gold. Costs 100 lp per cast even if you don't catch anything. Turning in the fish costs no labor and you are paid immediately.

Did an 8.1 and 9.37 gold set as well. Easy money in the sense that you just sit in one spot clicking icons. But, you are vulnerable. You have to pay so much attention to your fish that you can't watch for people around you. If you get attacked, you have to re-equip your weapons and stuff before you can fight back.

Lots of combat happening now. Just had a busy night. Started out by hunting reds in Ynystere, but not finding any. Then heard some of our friends were getting PKed while fishing, so we went out to help. Got there WAY too late, but were trying to hunt the guild that did the PKing. What we found was a Blank boat with Issenryu and one other on it. They died pretty quickly, but they got their boat desummoned. So it was just two kills. Then someone scouted a Blank merch ship heading to Cinderstone. So we recalled to Cinderstone and headed out to intercept. There were two Blanks heading in with a full merch ship. We killed those two and a third showed up and died immediately. Grabbed the ship and headed out to an island that Bloodstains on Aisle Five lives on. Just as we get there, the merch ship desummoned and dropped all the packs in the water. We ran them up and dropped them on their farm. One blank guy showed up and was killed. Ressed, killed again. A few times. Not sure if TKV guild tag was picked up in the mix. Pretty much everything is always blamed on BA5.

Many of the other bigger green guilds are going PK as well. KAAOS is one of them. They are the ones that PKed our friends. They were all out fishing a spot and as soon as their boat was full, the KAAOS fishers attacked ours and killed them. KAAOS PKed my in Ynystere once. We were all scouting the specialty station and about 5 of them jumped me all at once. Citidel has PKed my in Hasla because I can get mobs better than them. Same with Knights of something Lotus. Asgard was PKing fisherman too.

HOE and KAAOS are both at war with Blank now. So, I have a little more respect for HoE. But KAAOS is attacking a lot of greens, so, F them.

Now we just helped "Booty Patrol" deliver trade packs on Freedlich. Interesting thing is, there were a bunch of Blank people there that joined the fight against the reds. So, we ended up beating the reds back. After the packs were all in, BA5 killed all the blanks.

I don't participate in green killing when I know they can handle it. They just don't care about infamy and jail time. I don't want that stuff, so I only hit my enemies and theirs when they need the help.

Lots of killing so far tonight.

Ok, so we have some friends that got PKed while fishing by some other fisherman. Lost 5 fish to them. Later, we run into one of the PKs in Solzreed. One of our fishers started calling them names, etc. They exchanged pleasantries and we moved on. A little later, while looking for fishing boats to jack, the PK was shouting in local for help chumming the waters so he could fish. So, the one that was 'talking' to him in Solz whispered him that she could help. He accepted as partied up with her. So, our galleon and clipper followed at a distance so that once he filled his boat up, we could take it. Unfortunately, we couldn't find good fish to fish, so we just killed him and blew up his boat. Smart guy.

They've apparently been down for 7+ hours and the official forums are reporting that they're still troubleshooting, so no end in sight.

Think I'll play Saint's Row IV or Batman Arkham Origins tonight.

Over 10 hours and no resolution. Also no word from Trion since 6:45. I'm wondering if XL Games told Trion to get bent.

UPDATE: Most servers still down this morning and several now completely missing from the server list, including Lucius.

Considering the server population was dropping like a rock before this outage, I'm betting this isn't going to help.

Peeps on the forums are hinting at a server merge. I doubt that as they'd announce it first. Plus, how the hell would they manage that without fucking up land ownership?

Still, you do have to wonder if that's coming since no servers ever get to "High" status these days, let alone "Queue".

Not really sure whats up with this game.. Its really starting to leave a sour taste in my mouth. I don't have the patience for the grind anymore and all it seems like I do is farm and run a few boring ass trade routes. Even then, im still not even close to having gear to compete in PvP.

Oh well, at least League and MechWarrior are still fun to me..

How do you know if you can't compete in pvp? You never do it! Remember all that "you don't have to be level 50 to participate" stuff we talked about? It still applies. Next time you think about running more trade packs, contact other people in the game first and see what's up. Stop grinding your gear if you aren't having fun doing it and start playing the game! You should at least try it before giving up on it. You've come this far.

Just FYI, WoW is $5 until tomorrow. I'm going to buy it just in case...

I'm getting burned out on AA myself, and it's due to five things:
1. Trion

They are beyond incompetent or have complete apathy towards the game and their customers. It's not just that the servers have been down for 24 hours and they don't seem to have a clue, or that it's been down for extended periods on a weekly basis, or that they don't seem to have resolved exploits/bugs in a game that has been out for a while now in Russia and Korea, etc. I realize they're not the developer, but you'd think resolving these things before they become an issue would be important for them.

Image

2. The Zynga labor/crafting design

It's just shit. It's designed to hold you back and rewards folks who pay for advantages. Crafting the best stuff has worse odds than any game in any casino on the planet by a mile. Seriously, it's not even close. Would you ever gamble at a casino when you're given a 10% chance of winning?

As for the labor, people whined about the "grind" for money in MW:O? Well, imagine that grind and only being allowed to play 5 matches a day. That's a pretty close analogy to the AA grind.

3. The broken economy and unpunished exploiters

This is irritating a lot of folks. The mass 24 hour ban that several exploiters got that resulted in them back in game bragging about their money. They break the system and get a slap on the wrist for it.

4. Needing groups to do anything late game.

I don't want to have to get into voice and party up with a huge group of people every time I want to play. Sometimes I want to get on and farm some monsters alone. You can't really do that here. Almost all other MMORPGs have some aspect you can do solo because your guild isn't always online and/or not everyone is in a guild with 500 members. This game just completely lacks that. This makes the labor/crafting stuff even worse because I could do that solo, but it's mostly autopilot or you're out of labor.

5. Nobody is playing.

Starting with TKV: Troy is gone, I'm OFTEN online alone or with Jemm and a macroing Cake, Scooty has been mostly MIA for the past week and a half, Stranger is almost never on when I'm on, one guy doesn't speak English, and we're only 7-8 strong anyway. Meanwhile, all servers are dropping population like crazy and isn't exactly being replaced with a ton of new players.

I'm still playing through the year since I can do that with my credits via APEX, but it'll take a HUGE turn around from Trion to keep me after that.

Stop grinding your gear if you aren't having fun doing it and start playing the game! You should at least try it before giving up on it.

Cake is correct about just coming out and hunting with us. It's been the most fun I've had in game. It's been satisfying to get my Tier 2 bow (it glows without gems or anything like Scooty's), but the most fun I've had is fighting reds in Hasla or on trade runs or hunting them.

That being said, he's wrong about "playing the game". You ARE playing the game. the whole game is a grind and the PvP is a fun distraction from that.

Let me stress the FUN. I'm sure folks like Gordo are reading this and thinking, "See? That game is going to die. Glad I didn't waste my time." And they'd be right, AND wrong. The PvP is unlike anything we've done before and it's an absolute blast. It's the sole reason I haven't quit already, and the main reason why I kept telling Gordo to join us. It alone is worth all the other bullshit...but not forever.

Cake would be lying if he didn't admit we both knew this game would die an early death. It won't last long because we're not Koreans and we don't like the grind style of game that they do. Ask Zynga. That being said, I honestly feel bad for those who ignored it because I will miss the PvP when I'm gone. It's that good.

Oh well, at least League and MechWarrior are still fun to me..

LoL is permanently uninstalled, but I believe I'm about ready to return to my mechs. I'm curious to see where they are with global warfare.

We need to find a fun game. But I think that's kinda different for everyone.

This^^^

I will say the most fun I've had in this game are when we are with a larger group and PvPing, but I can't and don't wanna do that all the time. But to get anything done you really need to be a part of a large group. I like that Scooty wanted to make TKV a large guild, but I had no desire to try and find and recruit people, I like the small group of friends we have and am comfortable with that. I don't mind getting to know others as they come along and game with us, but I don't wanna actively seek people out.

Ill still be playing the game through the next few weeks at the very least, but ill also be playing some LoL and MechWarrior.

I know that I didn't like Rust the first time around, but after AA I think I would be willing to give it a go again sometime.

I know that its undergoing a huge change right now, but there were quite a few people here that liked it and maybe with some changes I will like it for the better.

Just have to keep an eye out for when it does get better, you would all know that better than I.

Rust is a looooong way from being done, but has the potential to be the greatest game ever made. But again, LONG way from being close to playable and they freely admit that.

Gauntlet was $10 yesterday on Steam, probably still is... I'd be very down for hearing "Wizard needs food...badly" with 3 other people.

Hey, it's the Steam sale. I'm not ruling out being done with any particular game, but with THAT mind... if someone sees a solid multiplayer game pop up that they would reccomened and we could give a shot, count me in.

Rust is getting there, still cooking. Nobody delete it for sure and a quick log-in to see the new rules never hurt anyone!

If y'all dive into Minecraft or Space Engineers or one of those sorts of games as a group I'd be up for some of that for awhile. I'm not much for the PvP game experience as I prefer something more leisurely, but that doesn't mean I'm entirely opposed to playing games with other people.
