General Cell Phone Discussion
I am getting rid of a Droid Ultra.
How does this compare to it?

It seems to be favorable. This isn't a refurb, is it? The description says, "This device has been thoroughly tested..."

I use Google Fi + Google Nexus 5X.
I enjoy them together. Fi = Ting (Sprint) + T-Mobile's network. The 5X is a bit more pricey at $379.
Google Fi = $20/month for unlimited text + talk per line. Additionally, data = $10/GB. You preselect usage (like 1GB), then if you use less, you get a pro-rated refund, if you use more, you pay more, pro-ratted.

I'm sitting here right now looking at my Verizon bill..... I am being charged $40 on two separate devices for the same shared 4GB of data. $80, and the wife uses 3.5 GB a month, and I use less than .5GB.
And, we have a regular dumb phone for the kid, and we are paying $7 EVERY MONTH to have access to a "Tech Coach" that we can call whenever we want that will teach us to use that phone better. I NEVER authorized anything like that.
This is making me angry.

I just realized Verizon is worst than I thought.
I am pying $60 for 4GB of data every month.
Then I am paying $40 "Access Fee" on my phone to get that data.
Then I am paying $40 "Access Fee" on my wife's phone to get that data.
Then I am paying $10 "Access Fee" on my wife's tablet to get that data.
$150 for a shared phone data plan of 4GB/month. Does this sound insane, or is it just me?

As long as it's compatible with their networks it should work. They use both Sprint and T-Mobile. Some of the answers you seek are on their coverage faq. And don't hesitate to call 'em, I've found their customer service reps to be top notch so far (and when I called there was no hold waiting time, it was just answered by a person on ring two).

What's strange is that when I plug in all FIVE of our devices in on Ting's "estimate my bill" page, it says I wouldn't save money moving everything to them. I think it's my wife's 3+GB of data every month.
But we'll save money just moving me over, so I may do that. And I already cancelled the fucking "Tech Coach" fucking bullshit.
I think I am going to give Google Fi a week to approve me, and if they wont then I will go to Ting.

Ting is $7 / line + the talk/text/data charges.
The calculator I'm looking at says $100 for what you've outlined, + taxes.
The data on Ting is expensive ($15/GB). Only $10/GB on Fi.
