Ok, Steve Jobs...
Speaking of Big Brother, did you see the new versions of the iPad and iPhone? They're getting rid of the home button. It's part of comrade Jobs' dream to have devices with no physical buttons.
It's interesting, and I'm truly excited that we're moving closer and closer to controlling everything by talking, but won't there always be a need for buttons? Can you sit in a meeting and when you phone goes off loudly say "Ignore" then "Quiet Mode"? If you tell a voice activated phone to turn on, is it really off if it can hear you?

Getting voice recognition to work reliably on lots of words one in regional dialect is bitchy enough. Stretching it across all languages and building a decent vocabulary is going to take a bit.

Swipes and Gestures handle many of those things. Android phones (even with volume buttons) have a locked-screen mute gesture so you can still silence your phone.

Great, I'm going to flip off the driver in the next lane and accidentally hang up my phone.
Or my wife is going to give me a hand job in the car and it'll accidentally call her parents.
While on this subject, has anyone used Dragon Dictation software? Is it worth it?

I wish I could go back to the early 90s and register every possible domain name.
Plus, popular music was sooooo much better. People still played instruments back then!
