I have my eye on this monitor. While at best buy today I was checking others out and when I looked at the 24" ones they seemed friggin huge and a bit of overkill. Anyone have one that big? Did you get use to it and everything was cool or is it too big?
When I first started I didn't think I could find one too big but now I don't know.

Reading some reviews real quick about monitors, people are mentioning that with TN panels, you lose some color/clearness at the far edges of the monitor due to a very limited viewing angle. So, depending on how close you sit to your monitor, this could be an issue. Buying a small monitor or sitting further away should help with that. Getting a monitor with the 'better' panel costs more and is slower (response time goes up a couple milliseconds), but the colors are truer and you have a much wider viewing angle.
So, next time you are at Best Buy, get all up on the monitors like you would be at your desk and see if the TN panel bothers you. Otherwise, I'm betting you would get used to any size monitor you bought.
That's what I learned about monitors in the last 10 minutes. That, and my monitors, while good when I bought them, suck in comparison to today's monitors.

TN panels definitely have worse picture than IPS panels (Dell Ultrasharp, Apple monitors). I've got a 22" TN, and a 24" IPS at home, and can definitely tell the difference between the two. The TN has inconsistent color across the panel, and the picture changes as you move your eyes across it. That being said, I've never really had a problem with looking at it for work, etc. But the IPS is definitely nicer (and a lot more expensive).
I use a 24" and a 19" at work, and all I can say is that you can never have enough screen real estate.

I will check out the IPSs. I think I might go smaller because at the most I am going to be 2 feet away from it and the 24" just seems to big.

I have a couple of Dell 1905FP UltraSharps lying around if you are interested. They're used, but haven't been used much (especially since I got the 24").
The ones on ebaythat have sold look like they've been around $50 with $20-25 shipping.
I'd also be willing to sell the22" TN panel. It's 3 years old. Not used much either. eBay doesnt have comps though, but $75 would be fine, or such.
If you're interested, let me know, would have to look into the shipping stuff. (Boxes, $)

Do you game on the IPS? They have a higher response time but not sure if I would notice a difference between 2-3ms and 8ms?
I have seen some complain about blurring but not sure how nitpicky they are being.

Dell had a sale so I went with the UltraSharp U2311H 23-inch for $255 with tax.
