Do you have it? Do you use it? Could you live without it?
Considering getting a phone that allows me to get my email on it. But, not sure I'd use it and stuff. So, just curious about what people who do have it, think about it.

My only experience was using my buddy's iPhone for all of twenty seconds. Is it shyte I'd used if I had it? Probably. But I'm not willing to pay extravagantly for it.
You getting charged as part of some web access fee? Per message? Amount of info?
I remember hating text messages until I was forced to use them. I get the feeling e-mail would be the same way.

I do, but I don't use it for regular email. I use it for receiving emails from myself. Reminders, voicemails, directions, shopping list, these sorts of things I have forwarding to my phone's email address so I'll a) have it with me wherever it is I'm going and need to have it or 2) will be notified in a timely manner instead of whenever I log in to next check email.
I could live without it, but I'd miss it.
If I have to send an email unless it's an emergency I'll forward the email to elsewhere and use a real keyboard.

For whatever reason, I can GET email but not send it from my phone. Haven't gone by AT&T to get them to show me what's set wrong. But I'll get my email and go to a PC to my web interface for my email which is much less of a pain in he ass anyway.
I like having it just as far as seeing email quicker than I usually would, but it's far from a requirment.
But I know some people that would die without it.

I didn't get it until I started my own consulting business. I like it. It's not "omg I cannot live without this" since it's a phone and I can often just call people.
I have Sprint, so it was only $15/month, which included web access, etc. My phone has a keyboard (it's a WinMo phone) and I downloaded a better browser to make the web surfing tolerable.

I'm in the process of trying to justify an iPhone. The $30 monthly cost seems excessive to me. That's an extra $720 for the damn thing. Having all the fun apps has value, but not enough. Same with safari access to the Internet whenever I want. But then, how important is that? I dunno. Don't have any of this stuff, so, I don't miss it. Would I use it all the time if I had it and be glad I'm spending the extra $30 per month to have it? Dunno. Why can't they have a $15 per month plan?
Yeah, if the iPhone had a $15/month data plan, or maybe even $20, I would probably get one. $30 for me (and the wife assuming we both wanted one) is just too much.
The internet and GPS on the iPhone are solid. I do admit that my GPS in the WinMo helps make data worth it (I don't have a GPS device), so I just use Google Maps (free) and it plots directions for me.
