Just in case any of you have to dick with one. I suspect you all have cable but this is what I have learned so far. They are extremely sensitive to power surges. Delicate the man said. Anyhow I thought the lights had just went off because none of the power strips in the house had tripped. But it had burned up digital converter number 1. Then I learned that all power strips are not created equal. Most are glorified multiple outlet extention cords. So I bought decent power strips and bought converter number 2. No one had any of the 50$ models so I bought the 60$ one from Radio shack. Don't know if the extra 10$ I paid after rebate made a difference but I went from 12 channels to 18. Picked up alot of Detroit channels. Can't wait to get my outside antenne up.
Next experiment is helping a friend of mine with her mothers converter. Claims the TV is the kind with the dials on it. Didn't know they were still around. But it might be fun figuring out how that is going to hook up to the 2 wire antenne.
