What do you guys do? I just burn a bunch of stuff onto a CD-R (actually, a DVD nowadays).

Backups?

I don't need no stinking backups.

Manual d2d backups to a centralized server.

Praying nothing happens between backups.

The wife is a picture taking freak, and recently I decided I better backup all the picture files on our file server.

I put a blank DVD in the burner, went to copy the file to my desktop for burning.... over 60GB.

So I bought an external HD and setup a weekly, automated backup routine in Windows using "Backup." Allows you to select which folders youw ant to backup, how often, and what type of backup. Now I have 2 versions of the files handy in case one of the HD's fails, and the wife wont cry and cry.
