Scotty

About halfway down, there's a cool little Java box that runs through various Star Trek technology vs actual science.

Is that the article about the USAF funding matter teleportation research? The research prior to the research? Good stuff.

I like to listen to scientists talk about what can't be done.

They always seem to eventually be proven, at least somewhat, wrong.

Well duh. After all, heavier than air flight has been proven impossible time and again.

So what do you think the odds are that the theory of relativity is eventually proven to be wrong?

Welp, Einstein proved Newton wrong... didn't Hawking have something to say about Relativity once?

I always chuckle when things like "warp drives" are blown off by scientists because of the theory of relativity. Its a theory for a reason. I'm not saying it'll be proven wrong, but scientists are proven wrong every day.

Meanwhile, Star Trek tech gets closer to reality.

1. This thread was started before my kid was born.

2. Here's a little thing about how humans are kind of crazy in the Star Trek universe, that amused me:

The continuity of TNG is laughably scattered and inconsistent. It's not a reflection on the bad-assery of the characters, it's a slam on the shitty, haphazard writing. By the way, fuck DS9, the Hillary of Star Treks.

That feeling of deja vu, it's just a glitch in the matrix. No worries.

You sarcastic fucks can stick your sarcasm so deep up your sarcastic asses that you need a Fannie Mae loan to pay for the operation to have it removed, but then they can't get to it and it causes an intestinal blockage and you die horrible, painful deaths due to toxic shock. I haven't seen the image, wherever it must be.

Gordon's ass is such a gaping maw from having so many guys pound it over the years that he often finds squatters in there, and thus, believes it to be a home.

Huh, where would we put an image on these forums? :D
