1. What is a "Shemps Blade"?

2. Does one learn magery by using scrolls or should I sell the 86.000 scrolls I've collected?

3. How does one get to the Buc's Den moongate? I'm not sure the moongates have ever taken me there.

4. Why can't I find a good table telling me what the rank is for item attributes? (IE: Accurate, durable, force, power, etc.)

Just found the answer to #1. It's a quest item.

2) put them into a sell hot bag and sell em at a mage shop
3) only a teleporter, which is somewhere randomly in the woods somewhere, use a rune library/my house and recall
4) This has the list, as well as all other information you probably wondered but didn't ask.

I just completed Shemp's quest. It was:
1. Get the sword from an orc outside Cove. (That's where I found it in the first place.)
2. Give Shemp the sword.
3. Take him to Brit Graveyard.

His sister actually gave the quest. I had to go back to her to get the full reward, which wasn't actually bad. Gold, gems, and a magic weapon.

When I walked back into Brit, Klog the Blacksmith stopped me with another quest. I assume that once you complete one quest, it opens up other quests? Not sure I ever did any quests in all the time I've played UO until today.

It occurred to me today that I'm really not prepping myself for run-ins with PKs. I don't carry runes or runebooks (I only think I have two runes total), I carry no greater potions (just the stuff I find on monsters), and I've got a couple of chests full of magic stuff that I'm not selling or wearing.

I'm thisclose to being able to afford a big house, but I think I might be better served in getting another small house to place in a high traffic area so I can start selling stuff.

I don't know if I've ever heard of UO quests besides, "There might be a wand to the northwest."
"Be bold, and mighty forces will come to your aid."

I was pretty surprised by it.

I had a sword called "Shemps Sword" and saved it thinking that it was odd. I initially thought it might be a crafting thing, like someone named it or something. Then I googled it this morning and read about the quest. I went to Cove and lo and behold, was given a scroll that described the quest and the steps I needed to take to complete it.

I find it hard to believe that doing that quest today and then Klog stopping me for another quest was a coincidence. I think my account probably got flagged or something as a player who wanted quests or something.

Speaking of vendors, how does it work for magic items. I mean, my ID lady can ID them obviously, but after she does will my customers see "a magic sword" or "a supremely accurate longsword of ass raping"?

Na, Cake and I hunt at the GY a lot.

That blacksmith yells at you every time you pass her asking for ore and shit.

Really?

I used to do ALL my smithing at that store and never once saw her/him there before.

Yeah, it was added in the last week or so.

I think all these quests are brand new.

Shemp has been in cove for as long as I can remember. We'd escort him there and get paid some gold. That's all we did with him. The Klog thing is new and one of the players on the server, I think, is running it, obviously with admin support. No idea what the point of it is.

You can learn magery off of scrolls as long as they are of high enough level to be a challenge.
