NY and CA had already banned new gas installation. So when I provided those links and said, "Well, yeah, they're already banning gas stoves," I was downvoted.

Serious question: How is this different from "No one's trying to take away your guns"? We all know that's a lie. The ultimate goal is disarming the American populace. Some Ds are more open about it than others.

FYI, I'm with you that I don't think Ds are trying to ban alcohol, but I could see a scenario where they get there. After all, this is the party trying to put the government in total control of our health care.

Man, I really do not trust our government at all. Or better put, I do not trust the people currently in charge of our government to look our for the country's needs and its people over their own greed and aspirations of power.

Because no one's trying to take away our guns? If so, they're terrible at it for 15 straight years.

I'd go so far as to guess more than 10% of the people in the country would like to take away guns. Not sure if that counts as "trying to take away guns."

Clarification: they want to selectively take away guns. Their own security details/private police will still have them. It's just from the little people. The correct voters people will still have them.

Well, not sure if you're aware, but there are two parties, checks and balances, and this pesky thing called the Constitution. However, if you think Pete Buttigieg stands alone as the only D politician that wants to ban all guns you're cray-cray. I also believe it to be far more than 10%. People legit think that banning guns will end all mass shootings and other gun violence. According to 638, 57% of Ds think protecting people from gun violence is more important than a person's rights.

This cannot be understated. The hypocrisy amazes me, and the way the cultists ignore this double standard amazes me even more.

Lauren Boebert may be an idiot, but she's also probably a good time.

The most offensive thing in the video, imho, was the selfie in the dark theater. Don't do that you rude bitch.

Now for the truly important question: How do we get her and that D porn star to make a video together?

Billionaire Republican donor (and Tik Tok investor) pays bribes donates to Republicans to keep tik tok unbanned.
TikTok had hardly any friends in government earlier this year as the Biden administration, Congress and state legislatures were threatening to ban the Chinese-owned video giant.

TikTok now has many more friends, with something in common: backing from billionaire financier Jeff Yass. They’ve helped stall attempts to outlaw America’s most-downloaded app.

Yass’s investment company, Susquehanna International Group, bet big on TikTok in 2012, buying a stake in parent company ByteDance now measured at about 15%. That translates into a personal stake for Yass of 7% in ByteDance. It is worth roughly $21 billion based on the company’s recent valuation, or much of his $28 billion net worth as gauged by Bloomberg.

Yass is also one of the top donors to the Club for Growth, an influential conservative group that rallied Republican opposition to a TikTok ban. Yass has donated $61 million to the Club for Growth’s political-spending arm since 2010, or about 24% of its total, according to federal records.

Club for Growth made public its opposition to banning TikTok in March, in an opinion article by its president, at a time when sentiment against the platform among segments of both parties was running high on Capitol Hill. Days later, Sen. Rand Paul (R., Ky.) stood up on the Senate floor and quashed an attempt to fast-track a bill by Sen. Josh Hawley (R., Mo.) to ban downloading of the TikTok app.

“We will be acting like the Chinese government if we ban TikTok here,” Paul said around that time.

In June, Yass donated $3 million to a political committee backing Paul. Including that contribution, Yass and his wife, Janine Yass, have donated more than $24 million to Paul or committees that support him since 2015, according to federal records. Club for Growth has given a Paul-supporting political committee $1.8 million since 2020.

In regards to the House Speaker mess...

1. Nobody outside of DC gives two fucks about the Speaker of the House.
2. Imagine if our elections were held in the same way that this election is held.
3. Just let the leadership of the majority party pick who is Speaker.
4. Or if you want to do it to more properly represent those you serve, just let the highest paying corporation pick the speaker. :D

They elected a speaker today. Nobody cares. It doesn't affect the American people in any way.

You know what does? The cost of living. The cost of cars, food, housing, etc.

McConnell vs Hawley over campaign finance reform.

If this passes corporations will have to go back to bribing their politicians the old fashioned way.

"Won't seek re-election" in wake of House ethics report.
The report said Santos engaged in “knowing and willful violations” with regard to financial disclosure statements filed with the House, and “knowingly caused his campaign committee to file false or incomplete reports with the Federal Election Commission.”

A statement from the committee accompanying the report said the panel unanimously voted to adopt the report. The committee said it uncovered additional “uncharged and unlawful conduct” by Santos that go beyond the criminal allegations already pending against him, and would immediately refer these allegations to the Justice Department for further investigation.
...
The panel concluded Santos “sought to fraudulently exploit every aspect of his House candidacy for his own personal financial profit.”

While they're investigating them all, how about releasing the Epstein client list too.

What's the joke I'm missing? The "Young Gun" line, which...wow...poor choice there.

Did he get divorced or something? I know basically nothing about him.
