So our local area school has proposed a 1% earned income tax. When passed they will drop a 5.1 mil property tax. I estimate the 1% will cost me from 4 to 5 hundred a year. My property taxes will lower a little over 100$.
And spread the burden to all income earners, not just property owners, which helps seniors on a fixed income. Helps farmers who own large tracks of land.
Lower pay to play sports fees to 20$ from 75$. All parents will receive free passes to all home sports events.
So if you are a parent, farmer or senior you seem to benefit. Why do I feel like I get the short end of the stick.
A couple more things in the article struck me as funny. They eliminated 788,000 from the budget by getting rid of 1 administrator, 7 teachers and 1 secretary. That is 87,000 apiece. How much money do these people make.
There is the you have 2 options statement. You can chose the 1% or 5.1 mil. How about option 3. I just vote no. Of course I am outnumbered by seniors, farmers and parents they all have hooked now.
