I remember saying BOOOOO when they first got the license. I may have even written a letter. I could have saved them a lot of money and bad PR.
Fuuuuuuck YOU.

Everyone hates loot boxes. The EU is banning them outright.

They are nothing more than a sleazy attempt to continue charging for a game a person has already purchased.

EA is going to continue to put them in their games though.

And people will push forward with buying them. EA won't stop because the idiots won't.

EA Meeting guy 1: We need to stop doing these. People hate them.
EA Meeting guy 2: Ya, but look how much money we make from them.
Meeting adjourned.

They're using a moral compass to help them code loot boxes.

You might not read anything funnier this year.

The comment section is basically exactly what you would expect based on that headline.

Cake's hatred of all things EA made me seek out some more information on them...

People are being warned away from their stock.

That can't be a good sign.

Also, the illegal profit source mentioned in bullet point 1 is loot boxes.

I'm quoting that because EA wanted to make loot boxes better for Anthem.

Players are organizing a boycott of Anthem because of how stingy the loot boxes are in game.

Does EA own 2K?

Ok, never mind. For some reason I thought Bioware made Bioshock. They don't. I LOVE Bioshock. Would hate to lose that.

Luckily, all of the ones I've bought and played were pre 2007.

Welp. Except for Mass Effect 1 and 2. Those came in a bundle of some kind. Hopefully I told it to put all money to charity.
