Ok, I played a different server tonight and had a much better time.
1. Saw the new "2 Fort" for the first time.... holy shit, so familiar yet so different. Played billions and billions of hours on that map back in the day.
2. How do I change my name in the game? It's just using "steve2" as my name. That's dumb.
3. Did much better. Had a sniper duel for quite a while. Also got 2 whole kills once before I died.

I'm out of town tonight for a golf tournament in the morning, but I should be back in town tomorrow evening without the family, so I hope to get on then. I'll look to see if any of you are signed in.
I know Cake is on my Steam friends list, but I'm not sure about anyone else here. I'm "Leisher" on steam, so send me an invite or whatever.
How many folks have TF2 besides Cake, Gordo, TPR, and me?

From here, WSGrundy also has it. My kid plays as do two other people that I know. So, WSGrundy, my kid, the two other people and I play together here and there. We're getting better. We always find a random Team Speak server to use for comms. Don't like using the ingame comms cause it gets spammed with dumb stuff more often than not.
If someone created a TS server for us to use, it would get used. But it's not necessary cause there are lots of available ones out there.

Now that I'm playing the game I'll look into a server this weekend.
I even have a dedicated server that I might be able to throw at it, depending on system requirements.

When the enemy guy is teamed with a medic and they both have that invunerability shell, what do you do about it?
Are the grenades from TFC completely gone?

Hide or take aim at the medic if they aren't shooting you. If you are the demo man and they walk across your sticky bombs, you can launch the medic to the other side of the board. It doesn't kill either of them, but it seperates the medic from his target and the target is no longer uber charged.
Yes. They did figure out that the grenade spam on death tactic was major lame. That was pretty much the only thing they were ever used for.

Pshaw. As a heavy I'd use them to clear corners (and other nooks and crannies) as I charged a base, and when I killed a heavy I always knew to wait a beat before I ran over their body in case of exploding grenades. No big deal. Sounds like the whiners get catered to, again.

No, they just removed something that was really lame.

And added VAC which proves they can do no wrong.

Well, I wouldn't agree with that. VAC sucks.

Had a lot of fun on the map with the rail cars last night. When I logged onto the server I found myself on Red, the defenders, and they were in a world of hurt. Apparently, blue didn't bother with the rail car and were simply camping the red spawn point. They had their whole team there and a full turret setup in a great spot that was hard to shoot at without getting mowed down.
Once that round ended without Red ever escaping, the tide began to turn. over the next few rounds things began to even out and the opposing team wasn't dominating as much anymore. In the final round I played, the Red team I was on had the Blue team completely locked into their base.
The result? 7 out of 8 blue players logged off the server. Fucking cowards.
Quick questions about damage:
1. If a spy, in disguise, stabs a sniper from the front, is that an insta-kill or does that only work from the rear?
2. If a scout hits a sniper with hit bat twice, should that be enough to kill him?
3. If a sniper pulls out his knife, should he get one shot kills on both the spy and scout classes?
4. If a pyro sneaks up behind a soldier and flames him, should that soldier drop dead in a single second?
Those were the only odd moments I came across during game play last night. They might be totally legit, as I'm still unfamiliar with the overall game mechanics.

I spent 45 minutes on a single round on 2Fort last night..... the timer finally ran out at 2 to 2.... we went into sudden death with everyone carrying axes with no respawns. Anyone ever see that before?
I ended the round with over 100 kills, mostly as a sniper. Had some epic duels.

Was your point that if I agree or liked one of the changes they made, then I must like them all?

Yes, that must be it.

No idea on your questions. Haven't played enough to know for sure. If you're asking my opinion. . . I still don't know.
However, things to note:
1. People can get stronger weapons which cause more damage. Maybe that's why you go down faster sometimes.
2. The pyro does massive damage if he sets you on fire then follows up with an axe hit. But you'd see the axe as causing your death, not the flame thrower.
As far as logging off if a team is getting owned. I don't like stacked teams. Hate it when it happens. It's not fun. It's one thing, if both teams have similar scores, but one team just keeps winning. I don't have a problem with that. It's sucks if you are on the losing team. . . but that's when I'll start trying to rally people to do stuff. But if 7 out of 10 people on the other team have higher scores than our top guy, I will play out that round. But after the round, and the teams change, if the same thing happens, then I move on. That's not 'stepping up to a challenge' to me. That's just some 'tards wanting to . . . I don't know what. But it's not fun and there's too many other servers. And yes, I will change teams if I find myself on the stacked team. Assuming I'm playing well enough that I can help the other team. If I'm not, I will change servers. I don't like stacked teams, even if I'm on the better one.
Lastly, the other thing I don't like is when people get on a server with the mega/major upgraded level 10 weapons. Then procede to dominate everyone else with the lower end weapons. Wonder if you can set limits as the server admin as to which weapons can be played with. . . There was one particular server I was playing on where three people all had maxed out weapons, and they always made sure they ended up on the same team. Couldn't touch them. So, that was lame. I want good fights. . . not slaughters. Slaughters aren't fun. Unless it's UO. . . those were fun.

I don't think I need to make a server. Only 3 of us seem to be discussing it, and the games would be boring with only 4 people playing.

We didn't have a stacked team, that was the point. They were dominating us when I joined up, so much so that we, the defending team, couldn't even leave our spawn point. A few games later with the same teams, when we returned the favor, they quit. Thus, pussies.
Lastly, the other thing I don't like is when people get on a server with the mega/major upgraded level 10 weapons. Then procede to dominate everyone else with the lower end weapons. That's actually why we should have our own server. If we can turn off those types of weapons and even the playing field for all, why wouldn't we want to play that way? Especially if we can permaban retards who spam the airwaves or that we catch cheating.
We do need to recruit more peeps around here though.
