Saw a funny meme about the caravan. It said something like: "Shouldn't the immigrant caravan be marching to Venezuela because socialism is so great?"

Someone is coordinating it. Anyone that's been deployed in the military can tell you that moving 7k+ people requires a lot of support. Hell, just look at how much support is needed for a 5k race? How many water bottles and cups are stationed all over? How many people man those water stations? Now expand that to a few hundred miles and a few days. This isn't a spontaneous event. And the fact that the MSM isn't asking these questions tells you all you need to know about what the point is. The press is trying to make up for screwing things up with Kavenagh.

I bet this backfires just as bad as the last time they tried putting the needs of illegals over poor americans. Or was it wounded vets? Either way.

A pitched battle at the border would be interesting. Hope they dont use the kids as human shields.

Mexico is trying to convince the caravan to become Mexican citizens.

Meanwhile, Trump is going to send troops to the border.

If thousands of illegals try to cross the border, and do so violently like they did in Mexico, what is the appropriate response? Is a country allowed to defend itself? Do they have to smile and wave the people through?

Columbia is going through a similar situation with Venezuelans. We had a Colombian in the offices here for a visit and broke down the situation. Basically, Venezuela is a dumpster fire and people are fleeing from there to neighboring countries. It's causing a huge problem in Columbia. Weird how the MSM doesn't report this stuff, huh?

I certainly have sympathy for those wanting to get a better life, but I want the immigration policies to limit the rate at which people can enter this country.

Exactly. I want to help people, but I want to help them by making their countries better places to live, not sacrifice my standard of living, safety, culture, etc.

It's become pretty clear the the ones in the caravan really aren't interested into assimilating and becoming Americans.

I don't see why any country has any obligation to take in those who will not conform to the customs of that country. They're trying to be nice, not upend their society.
