Republicans would never have let that happen.
Trolls gonna troll.

Just looked at my Twitter feed for the first time today and it's ALL accounts with blue checkmarks.

Also, Alyssa Milano could very well be the biggest Karen on the planet:

From what I've heard, she's been spewing bullshit for years, so people claiming to be her and spewing what she thinks is bullshit is likely to be better.

The party that wants people to show ID to vote has fought universal IDs? How so? I mean, what's the crux of their argument? I don't know of a single state where one cannot get a state issued ID for free.

P.S. I don't want to hear the Ds' version, but the R version.

For example, let's look at abortion:
Ds' version is "Rs hate women and want to strip them of all their rights. They also are racist and since more white people have abortions, they need them to stop so whitey continues to have the numbers to rule." These are real things I've heard.
Rs' version is (from SCOTUS) "The issue of abortion is not guaranteed in the Constitution, but if a state wants it, then they can have it." (from that Texas judge) "The FDA lied and was intentionally stonewalling on this case to coverup that the drug is doing harm to a significant percentage of women." Both paraphrased from CNN.com articles on the cases.

Reminder: I'm pro-choice. :D

"StAtEs RiGhTs" usually.

They also want you to show ID for porn, what a fucked up party.

But it is! Welcome to the 10th amendment, which assigns the rights to the people.

I'm in favor of states over the federal government. We're the United States, not America.

That being said, I'm very much in favor of national databases to be used in traffic stops, during background checks, etc., so I believe I might be in favor of a national ID. However, I could see issues with it depending on how else the feds wanted to use it, rules for getting it, etc. So I'd need more info to decide if I support it or not.

My penis won't like this, but porn should probably be harder to come by than it is. Every study shows how harmful it is to one's mental health, the people involved, marriages, the youth who are having trouble getting and maintaining boners, etc.

Kids should have to jerk off to mail order catalogs like we had to!

Yep, seems pretty obvious they ruled correctly:
“The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people”
So tell those people to vote FOR abortion in the states that try to ban it, and I'll join their protests when it isn't legalized.

You know, if Elon Musk really cared, the right Lesbians would be trending.

Ha! I would love to tweet that at him, but you just know it'd get tons of hate.

Musk/Twitter taking heat for graphic shooting/driving images from this weekend.

I'm for free speech, but I also do feel like crime scene photos shouldn't be publicized. It's victimizing victims, and worse, possibly monetizing their tragedy. Plus, I'm sure there are legal reasons to not do it.

The attackers? Different story. Show their corpses and/or suffering.

That being said, it's impossible for any social media service to keep the stuff off their platforms. Only those truly ignorant of the realities could possibly demand these images never see the light of day on the platforms. For example: The Taylor Swift Eras tour has begun and people are live streaming it every single concert. LOTS of people. TikTok is doing their best to ban every stream that goes live, yet my daughters and all of their friends have seen every night. They know the set list and the time when Taylor does the two songs unique to each night. Proof of how widespread it is: Whatever songs Taylor sings during those two unique ones trend on Twitter immediately. Not just trend, but top trending.

Does Twitter need more content moderators? Yes.
Can they or any platform stop all negative content from seeing the light of day? No.

It's like demanding that all spam be stopped...

I don't know shit about anything Elon did on Saturday or what Rubin claims, but I saw a lot of people shredding Rubin's claims in that thread.

BTW, I was on Twitter all day/night Saturday and nothing affected me at all. Apparently all of the temporary limits are also already gone?

The thing that got me, and apparently I forgot my comment, was the "s3 cluster." In AWS land (which is where the S3 service lives), there's no such thing as an S3 cluster. You could have an S3-Backed cluster (using EMR), but it was an immediate shooting in his own foot.

I wasn't posting to bash Elon.

Like I said, I was confused on the whole thing. That stuff is way over my head. I always assume Elon is simply reciting what the nerds he employs tell him. Thus, when someone tries to take him to task, it's kind of stupid. Nobody knows everything. The guy who owns a car company, space company, internet company, Twitter, and others probably knows something about each, but he or she isn't going to know all the ins and outs of them all.

The FBI put out a statement about never investigating parents who spoke up at school board meetings, and Twitter hit it with Community Notes calling the statement misleading and including links to the FBI agent who testified before Congress saying the FBI absolutely did this very thing.

What a complete 180 from the previous Twitter owners who were helping squash news stories (like Hunter's laptop) at the request of the FBI.

Twitter is now X.

Loads of folks are really upset about it, because...I don't know. I guess people just use any excuse to get mad and upset so they can fool themselves into thinking their opinion matters.

IMHO, I think "X" is kind of stupid, but it's his company and it does fit his brand.

Although, I like this logo a lot better than the one they're using:
