He's right. The Cubs aren't his world champs. They're Chicago's.

Ouch.
Steve Goodman might well have appreciated the bittersweet deal:

Months before the Cubs’ first World Series title since 1908 made his 32-year-old “Go Cubs Go” a surprise hit, his family reportedly sold away the publishing rights to his songs.

New HOF inductee players.
Slugger Jeff Bagwell, sparkplug Tim Raines and first-year candidate Pudge Rodriguez were elected to the National Baseball Hall of Fame on Wednesday, adding three players to what’s certain to be a busy induction weekend July 30.
We'll get back to Raines but the other two are fairly deserving.
Bagwell, the first baseman whose power and patience provided more than a decade of middle-of-the-lineup thunder for the Houston Astros, received 86.2 percent of the vote from the 442 in the Baseball Writers Association of America who cast ballots.
One of the most solid and consistent power hitters for over a decade. Got injured a bit much, but also a decent fielder.
Rodriguez, the 14-time All-Star catcher, earned 76.0 percent in his first year.
Yeah, he was behind the plate for years, handled a million different pitchers, had a good arm, knocked down a lot of shitty breaking balls, and could even hit. Slowest motherfucker on two legs, though.

Now, back to Raines.
Raines, a do-everything outfielder who joins an underrepresented group of leadoff hitters enshrined, earned 86.0 percent in his 10th and final year on the ballot.
Do-everything, yeah ... that's one way to describe a crackhead who carried his pipe and vial in his pants while running the bases. Don't get me wrong, dude has good numbers and was a quality leadoff guy, but he was a straight up drug addict and everybody knew it.

It's on his goddamn cards, for fuck's sake.

Here's an interesting MLB stat:
From 1997 to 2007, the National Baseball Hall of Fame had at least 300,000 annual visitors. It hasn't reached that mark since.
Is it because the sport is dying or because of all the cheaters?
