He's 13, now, getting sensitive to what's socially acceptable.
R&M was very cool, that first season, when we got on board at episode 1. But then the masses discovered it, and the McD's sezchuan sauce thing happened, and pickle rick happened, and now R&M fandom is considered to be horrible, by the internet. So now he won't wear the clothes.
He has a small point. The McD's thing is where I stopped wearing my t-shirts, too. I didn't want to be associate with some of the stories I heard, regarding the small quantities.

You know who the coolest kids in school are? Hint: It's not the ones who are scared to wear something that might not be hip. (Not picking on your kid, I try to tell my kid this all the time.)
Is there anything stupider and less cool than the teenage mentally of "Oh that's actually popular, so now we can't like it."

I get that. He had a "Burt Macklin, FBI" costume for Halloween.this year. And the school orchestra had a concert with the Toledo Symphony, and were invited to wear costumes. He didn't want to wear his, "none of the others will be.". So I told him to be the cool person, being awesome and wearing the costume. And he was the only one... And also a lot of girls were talking to him.
So.
He doesn't know how to talk to.girls, yet... It's painful to overhear. But we're working on it .
