Memory says episode 1, 5, and 7 had the best sex. Episode #1 by far had the most.GORDON wrote:Well now... ep 1 had lots of sex.TheCatt wrote:Watched Episode 1 last night. Intense.
My wife didn't care for the fact that pretty much every female character is "oppressed"
Fair # of boobies. Fair # of beheadings.
So far, good.
Game of Thrones *SPOILERS* - For the nights dark and full of SPOILERS
It's not me, it's someone else.
All caught up now. Amazing how much TV time you get when the wife and kid go out of town for a few days.
I didn't see Borimir's fate coming. I haven't read the books yet, but as I am almost caught up with the Wheel of Time books, these may go in the on-deck circle.
I typically don't like political intrigue and back-stabbing. I prefer my good guys to be good guys and bad guys bad and for everyone to own it. That's just me. But, this story is not relying on characters to be stupid in order for others to succeed, so I am enjoying it so far. Some decisions are being made with a lack of recent intelligence, but that is different from being stupid... the only really dumb decision I have noticed to far was by the dead drunk fat king... in going against what was "morally right" and ordering the blonde horse-queen girl assassinated, he himself stirred the fires for for the horse lords to cross the sea and invade. I sorta saw that coming. Borimir tried to keep him from making that wrong decision. Being moral would not have stirred that hornet nest. Of course, lack of intel on everyone's part, but in that case making a moral decision could have kept the horse lords on their side of the sea.
What night of the week does this show air?

Ok, so, clear a few things up for a peep who hasn't read the book:
1. "The Wall" is a massive man made structure because in the past, when winter comes, monsters come south, from the north? Yes?
2. "Winter" is not yearly, it seems to come in approximately 10-year cycles, and can last for several years? Yes?
3. There used to be dragons, and there was a family that had some sort of affinity to/with them, and (some members of) this family have/had asbestos skin and can't be burned, but all the dragons were wiped out and the surviving members of this family were scattered to the winds, and some of them are still bitter for being displaced, and now look, more dragons? Yes?
4. There is a tree with red leaves that somehow symbolizes an "old god" religion, and most/all of those trees in the south were cut down? And the Starks follow the old gods?
5. Incest is icky and results in children with dwarfism, megalomania, and psychotic mentalities?

1-2) Pretty much, only the seasons are variable, and the people don't know how long they have until the Summer and Winter switch. Every few 100 years a very, very long Winter comes, and "they" come. Back when their was magic in the Kingdom, they forged a gigantic wall to keep "them" out.
3) Yep.
4) I'd say the biggest feature of the trees is that THEY HAVE BLEEDING FACES ON THEM. Also, in the lore, their used to be some kind of elves in the big bleeding face forests, but then the forests were clear-cut, and the elves were possibly genocided, we don't know.
5) That Explains joffrey. But I don't think Tyrion is a result of incest. Also, Tyrion is awesome. In the books you don't start to like him until later, but Peter is so good in that role I loved him from the first scene.
Coolest Map of the World that I've seen.
That map is neat because it shows characters that you meet in the books, but doesn't ruin it for you if you aren't there yet.

Yeah, Tyrion is pretty damned cool. Probably my fave character... I am bummed he is on the side he is on.Troy wrote:5) That Explains joffrey. But I don't think Tyrion is a result of incest. And I aint arguing so much, but the incest chick did admit that for generations brother-sister unions were used to keep bloodlines pure.... so even if Tyrion's parents weren't siblings, that doesn't mean one of his parents wasn't a result of incest and still has a double-down of goofy recessive genes.
Here's something else... incest woman talked about their first child that "they lost" with the dead king. The one with the dark hair... which probably meant it was actually his kid. So, good chance she killed the kid herself, right?

Yeah, Cersei is a bitch. They made her way more sympathetic with her random sad looks on the show than is represented in the books. You hate her the most out of all the characters.
I figured it like this:Troy wrote:Damn, nice call on that having not read the books.
1. Bitch be all into doing her brother.
2. She approved of her brother trying to murder a 10 year old kid just because the kid caught them going to the bone zone.
3. Had a kid with her brother, and supports every psychotic little thing he does even when doing so causes the deaths of others, even when "other" is a kid. Just so her dear little incest baby doesn't get scolded.
Those things alone illustrate that she is a complete psycho.
So, when she gets with her burly husband and sweetly laments with him how they lost their baby, showing emotions she couldn't possibly have, obviously she is lying. She doesn't show remorse over dead kids, she probably resented being forced to marry the guy in the first place, the blonde kid was obviously an incest baby even before it was revealed to be so, and I figured she probably just killed the dark-haired baby because it was not of "pure blood." Whenever she would talk about the baby in an apparent display of affection for her husband, she was just rubbing it in and enjoying causing him pain.
Bitch is wack. Kill her and solve a lot of problems.
