"If" true...quoted because we know it is...this should be treason. I get wanted to protect a man, but that man is making decisions that affect the world. It's not ok to have him there if he's mentally incapacitated. It gets worse if he's not really the one making the decisions.

They could have legally made Kamala president long before the election. She would have had a better chance prolly.

Whether these numbers are right or wrong, this is a tradition that needs to end or have limits put on it.

I'm torn on this one.

On the one hand, the USA does love filling prisons, and it has little to do with justice or rehabilitation. On the other, I'm sure they're not pardoning the people who should have never been there in the first place.

On the one hand, I'm super pro death penalty and whatever punishments for crime. OTOH, like Gordon said, our prison system isn't exactly about reform + 2nd chances, and I'm open to people getting 2nd chances once they prove themselves worthy.

I don't disagree with either of you.

There's no easy fix, but the "pay for pardons" system has to be fixed. And I have no solution, I just know it's being abused.

We don't even need to start with big, lofty goals about rehabilitation. We could start with working on the punchline, "LOL have fun getting raped." That alone is a big hint about how we think of incarceration.

Serious question: Based on everything we know, including the recent NYT's piece, should he be allowed to do anything anymore? Are we sure he's making any of these decisions?

And I agree, "Is HE actually making these decisions?" But really the decision is to not let the imperfect state kill peeps, so it's hard for me to object too much.

I really don't think he's been truly in charge of much for a while now. If we had a government that wasn't corrupt, this wouldn't have gone on this long and investigations would be happening now.

It reminds me of the aide telling a clearly disoriented and mentally unfit Feinstein how to vote in a Congressional session. How was that not THE headline everywhere. It shows you how little people care unless it's the other party doing it.
