Florida's governor showing how to put on a face mask.
His stupidity is mind boggling.

Meanwhile, he apparently listens to the almighty dollar above all else:
He shuts down his state, the most vulnerable, pretty much after the rest of the country, and then within two weeks of that:
-Declared professional wrestling "essential" on the same day Linda McMahon, wife of WWE president Vince, announced millions is spending in Florida from a SuperPAC.
-Reopened many beaches.

Honestly, I have no problem with Florida remaining open, as long as the border to Florida is closed.

Sweden is trying it.
As of April 9, Sweden has 9,141 cases of the Covid-19 virus and 793 deaths, according to Johns Hopkins University figures.
They clearly are not testing much? 8.7% death rate.
Sweden almost through the worst of it.

One doesn't want to say, "Well, what if it works?" when a country like Sweden says they're going to take a different approach. The "conventional wisdom" has been turning to "they're idiotic, and if you don't agree then you're also idiotic and part of the problem."

But I will say this: I read early on that Sweden was going to isolate the most at-risk, and let it burn through as fast as they could to get herd immunity, and power through it. And then all the really smart people pointed at the expected results, a higher-than-average rate of infection, and used it as evidence that what Sweden was doing didn't work. But that's what they expected from the beginning. That was the entire point, in fact, of trying a different way.

It can be irritating.

So it's best to just keep your mouth shut.

Sweden tried it, but had to impose some more restrictions, but still kept things mostly open. Assuming we've been smart enough to improve our testing, our production of protective gear, etc, I think we should start opening a bit in May. I wouldn't put schools in sessions, but I'd start allowing small gatherings, etc.

A couple days ago there were more rumblings about it being man-made in China. Is that disappearing, again?

Because I SWEAR when this was all starting it was reported, and the next day it went down the memory-hole.

Literally everything I've read said it's natural, with only rumours about it being man-made.

But, I mean, there's also rumours that the US created it, so...
