The Cowboys at #1? Fucking please.

If the Steelers are selling so much gear, why are their operating margins so low?

I totally believe Dallas as #1, look at those profits. "America's team" may be BS to us, but people buy their shit.

Selling football gear in Texas is like shooting already dead fish in a thimble.

Nice O-Line, Leisher.

They're a work in progress. Going on about a decade of work...

If they had an offensive line, the Steelers might actually be impressive. All those expensive skill players don't mean shit if you can't protect or open holes.

I'm hoping Ponder goes down in preseason so Cassel can take over.

It's FF keeper league time for me again. One draft Saturday, another a week from today. The former is the $100 keeper auction league and I get to keep up to 4 from ...

Ben Roethlisberger - $5
Marshawn Lynch - $6
<s>Ray Rice - $28</s>
<s>Michael Crabtree - $17</s>
Wes Welker - $14
<s>Owen Daniels - $7</s>
<s>Alex Green - $1</s>
<s>Denarius Moore - $5</s>
<s>Bernard Pierce - $1</s>
<s>Robert Turbin - $1</s>
Russell Wilson - $2
<s>Rod Streater - $1</s>
<s>Andrew Hawkins - $1</s>
<s>Rashard Mendenhall - $1</s>
Fred Davis - $1

Dudes in bold are ones I'm definitely keeping. No, I didn't mean to get 2 Seahawks, it just kind of happened. I'm not shelling out for two-thirds of a hobbled Crabtree season. Rice is too expensive and he's got to give out eventually. Denarius just killed me in a few games last season, and he's a Raider. I can't see myself forking out $1 for Rashard in Ari-fucking-zona.

In spite of telling myself I was cutting Welker loose, considering keeping him since I think he'll do well in Denver with old man Manning throwing to him, because they sure as shit aren't winning over there with the run. That leaves one spot. I don't have to fill it, but I could see myself going $5 for Big Ben (backup QB/trade bait) or a $1 flyer on Fred Davis (backup TE).

Congress threatening to get involved in HGH testing.

They have no business being involved, but it's interesting that a D is calling out a union.

Draft results:

1. QB: Russell Wilson, $2, kept
2. QB: Big Ben, $3
3. RB: Lynch, $6, kept
4. RB: Ray Rice, $28, kept (still halfway hating myself for doing this), tied with Megatron for most expensive player
5. RB: Danny Woodhead, $1
6. RB: Vick Ballard, $2
7. WR: Welker, $14, kept
8. WR: Roddy White, $13
9. WR: Bryan Quick, $1
10. WR: Greg Jennings, $6
11. WR: Kenny Britt, $4
12. WR: Andre Roberts, $1
13. TE: Owen Daniels, $5
14. TE: Gronk, $9, for three reasons: (i) worst case ... just a Gronk postseason is worth $9 and (ii) this is a keeper league, I'll happily IR him and bank him for next year, and (iii) Owen Daniels is good enough to start, just not elite.
15. random kicker, $1
16. Broncos D, $1

The New York Jets are an embarrassment to the league.

You play your backup, who by accounts has been stinking up training camp, in the third pre-season game when everyone else is playing their first string people. He proceeds to show that all the draft hype about him was premature by tossing three picks and inexplicably giving up a safety. So then, in the 4th quarter you bring in your projected starter for game 1, who then gets injured.

Ladies and gentlemen, the New York Jets.

Jets: The Raiders of the East.

Seriously though, the AFC East is a joke this year. The Pats will win by showing up.

How has that been different from the last 10 years or so?

Ok, the Jets made two runs, but still, arguably the worst division in football for the past two decades. I mean, at least the NFC West made improvements.

The Dolphins have stunk since Marino retired.

The Bill have stunk since the Kelly/Thomas team.

The Jets have had two decent years under Ryan, but prior to that haven't been a contender since Broadway Joe.

Would still take Matt Flynn over Mark Sanchez. The Raiders aren't going to be setting the standard for god-awfulness this year.

NYJ cutting Braylon Edwards. That leaves them with Santonio "Concrete Hands" Holmes and a host of scrubs to catch the passes thrown by whatever Gong Show of a QB they get this year.

I get it, they love Johnny Manziel - But do they have to be so obvious?

Second auction draft done. More questionable results, though a similar team resulted. Crossover players:

Owen Daniels
Gregg Jennings
Gronk
Ray Rice
Big Ben
Welker

Took 2.5 hours because it's the first online auction draft for lots of folk and we use $250 instead of $100.
