What the god-damned fuck, 2020?
An infectious and fatal strain of bird flu has been confirmed in a commercial turkey flock in South Carolina, the first case of the more serious strain of the disease in the United States since 2017 and a worrisome development for an industry that was devastated by previous outbreaks.

East Coast and West Coast governors form pacts to start planning reopening.
IMHO, the biggest stumbling block now is going to be kids. Many are out of school for the year. What do parents do about childcare now?
Also, Trump gets quoted being completely ignorant of how the government works again:
During Monday's White House coronavirus task force briefing, Trump again asserted his authority to override governors, saying, Tthe President of the United States calls the shots."
"When somebody's the president of the United States, the authority is total," he said. "And that's the way it's got to be."
Meanwhile,
in Detroit hospitals bodies are piling up w/pictures!

Hasn't a national "state of emergency" been declared? My understanding is that gives FEMA CRAZY powers, but I don't know a lot of particulars. I could easily see one being to override state governor authority.

Professional wrestling is live again.
Florida declared them an essential service, which if you read the memo, also paves the way for other sports and entertainment.
According to an April 9 memo from the governor's office, recent additions to the list of "essential services" in Florida include "employees at a professional sports and media production with a national audience -- including any athletes, entertainers, production team, executive team, media team and any others necessary to facilitate including services supporting such production -- only if the location is closed to the general public."

I don't want to jinx it, but daily new cases has been trending down since the weekend. If this trend continues (I know...I know), I'm thinking things ease up by early May, mid May.

Foreign peeps trying to scam hospitals via the sale of non-existent N95 masks.
I genuinely hope Trump sends members of a SEAL team to go visit the people responsible.
People who try stuff like this during times like this are sub-human, and their removal from the breeding pool would be a benefit to all of mankind.

Chinese McDonald's bans black people.
This seems like it would go into the racism thread, but this is apparently Coroniavirus related. It's got to do with African students/immigrants in the area and they're being labeled as the source...

What a weird thing to do. Almost like they are trying to cover something up...

Most deaths in a day today.
The US coronavirus death toll reached 25,757 on Tuesday evening, an increase of 2,129 deaths today -- the highest number of fatalities in a single day.
Antibody test news isn't good.
R from Indiana bluntly says crashing the economy is worse than people dying.
Get ready to social distance until 2022.

My youngest developed a dryish cough last night, so of course my oldest thought it was the rona, and we would all die.
Pretty sure it was just an asthmatic type of reaction to sawdust from work I was doing. Lasted overnight, and this morning, basically gone right now.

What's up with these harsh restrictions in Michigan?
Even in our kooky nanny state we are still letting people get house project materials at home depot. There are no product buying restrictions, nothing about not going to second houses.

Lol.
5th week of quarantine here. I'm starting to wish we could at least have 10 people gatherings and such.

I don't get it, but I also don't know what's going on in Michigan.
Things are slow enough around here that I would hope to have some lessening in early May. We've got more ventilators, etc.
