Holy shit, Brian Banks is back. For those of you who don't know, he fucked some chick back in high school, she said she was raped, he took a plea instead of a trial, and did jail time. Then, years after the fact, years after the bitch had time to spend all the cash she won from school system, she admits she lied. However, being a bitch...
More recently, Gibson has backed off her recantation, Brooks said. Nevertheless, when presented with the Innocence Project's findings, Los Angeles County prosecutors agreed that the case should be thrown out.
...
He said prosecutors had no plans to charge Gibson, saying it would be a difficult case to prove.

Fucking seriously. She lies, destroys a dude's career and life for at least half a decade, profits a million and a half from it, and suffers no consequences. She deserves to be publicly executed.

She should have just stabbed and paralyzed him, then you'd be arguing she was just a dumb kid instead of demanding her public execution! :D

He got her on tape saying she lied, years after the fact. Had she come forward a decade ago and admitted the lie, before the dude was forced to register as a sex offender, I'd be more forgiving. I can see lying to the cops initially if you're a stupid teenager that just got into some shit. I'm not nearly as nice after you've lived off the $1.5M settlement you extorted out of the school, destroyed someone's life, and your best defense is the following:
According to Banks and his private investigator, Gibson refused to tell prosecutors that she had lied, so that she wouldn't have to return the money she and her family had won in court.

She also said she feared it would affect her relationship with her children, Banks' attorney alleged in court papers.

That level of selfishness should legally prevent you from ever getting anywhere near a child, let alone being responsible for one.

I'll bet the guy who is paralyzed for life would agree to give up 1.5 million dollars to be able to walk again.

I got zero background on Mr. McStabby. For all I know, he deserves paralysis and worse because he up and knifed his friend in the spine one day. On the flip side, maybe McStabby stabbed his buddy over some other bullshit dispute they or their families had. Maybe McStabby's buddy raped his sister or screwed him out of money and knows the right people in town to get away with it. Before the plunger drops on that syringe, such questions need to be thoroughly investigated.

And before you execute this woman publicly, shouldn't you give her the same benefit of the doubt?

Perhaps this guy raped her or did some other shit to her? Maybe this is karmic justice because this dude actually raped and murdered someone else and nobody knows about it. (Some would say that happened to OJ.)

You've got to allow your argument to be applied both ways...

Or maybe he's going through this because he broke that lamp in 1974 and lied about who did it? Maybe his father wants to meet this girl and thank her? (Who else is old enough to get that?)

Apparently that $1.5M healed the pain enough for her to be quiet for a bit.

Oh, now you know what helps rape victims? :)

Ok Malcolm, we're beyond silly at this point. You got caught in a contradiction, but are too stubborn to admit it. I'm sure you and your future wife will have fun discussing your inability to admit making a mistake in therapy, but I think this topic has lost steam. Let's wait for an actual sports story to come up and we can start debating in this thread again.

For example, it'd be fun if someone wrote an opinion piece about the Vikings called: "Best Vikings QB Ever - Tarkinton or Favre?"

I would vote that too, but I thought it'd be an awesome joke to run an opinion piece in Minn's biggest newspaper with the headline: "Brett Favre, the Vikings' Best QB Ever".

You'd have to do it on April 1 so folks wouldn't burn the building down.

Anthony Jezelnik:
"Rumors abound that a current NFL player is about to come out of the closet. Experts wonder if he'll be ostracized or praised for QBing the New England Patriots to 3 Super Bowl win."

Joe Flacco's ego set for record inflation levels. I hope he throws single digit TD passes this year.

Gronk out for the season's start? All this because his ass couldn't sit out and let his injury heal properly. Would certainly help if my keeper league chances if he were going to miss the first few games.

My wish list for the Panthers in the 1st round:

1) Star
2) Austin
3) Vaccaro/Cyprien

1+2 are probably gone by 14.

I saw a mock draft that had the Steelers trading out of the 1st round for Philly's 1st round next year and second this year. I'd love to see that happen.

EA seeks to avoid Madden Curse this year.
The cover player for Madden NFL 25? Barry Sanders. Yeah, that one. No, he's not coming out of retirement.

The Steelers wanted Jones or Vaccaro and got Jones.

Joe Flacco no longer QB with most ca-ching. Whether or not he's the most overpaid is still up for debate.
