No argument here.

Montzka said if the source of the new emissions could be identified and contained, the damage to the ozone should be minor.
However, if it could not be remedied the already slow recovery of the atmosphere's protective layer could be further delayed.
Thanks, China.

This is why we were right to reject the Kyoto Climate Treaty. It would have allowed China and India to keep on polluting at current levels. If they aren't living up to existing agreements, what do you think they'll do with no restrictions?
But yeah, the U.S., whose consumers are willingly eliminating straws, plastic bags, etc. and are pressuring corporations to go green, is the issue...

CNN opinion piece wants Trump and other Republicans tried for climate crimes against humanity.
The world is ending! Let's politicize it!
What this asshat and others like him don't understand is that shit like this is why people tune out the warnings.
"Hey, is any of this climate stuff real?"
"Nah, that's just political mudslinging."
He also offers no solutions. No ideas on how to maintain the economy when you tell everyone to shut down their factories, stop driving, etc. overnight. He doesn't ask for Gore and Biden to be tried as well based upon their terrible negotiations for the Paris agreement. (At the very least, they should be tried for treason under this guy's logic.)
Just wants Republicans to pay or die or whatever. Very constructive.
And this is not a defense of Trump's head in the sand approach. He's an idiot. Pull out of the complete bullshit Paris accord, fine. However, make a counter proposal!

The book "Fallen Angels," sci-fi, imagines what the country would become if the Green Party actually got into power. Scary shit. They borrowed some aspects of it for the movie "Interstellar," in which history was revised to downplay the role of engineers.

I imagine immediate war. Not political wars of words, but people with guns and total anarchy.

In that book, coal and fossil fuels, banned, full stop. To keep from overloading the existing power grids, in the winter homes were only allowed to set the thermostat as high as 50 degrees.
Physicists and other scientists were hanged on the spot, as they were seen as the drivers of industry that killed Gaia.
I don't recall them addressing the idea that 50mil Americans are armed. That is certainly a monkey wrench in any American takeover plan.

This will be more interesting sooner here locally.
First Solar is located here and they're building a massive plant down the road from me. I've got to imagine this will be right in their wheelhouse and impact their business.
