Season over, still recovering

Shazier's football career is in doubt, and Schefter noted "the focus right now is not on his playing career but on trying to facilitate his recovery."

He added that Shazier's season "is over" and that the Steelers said they are "concerned solely about his short- and long-term health."

Steelers defense sucks without him. Brady should tear them up next week.

Patriots don't lose two in a row. Plus, our defense is terrible right now with Shazier out.

The key will be Bell, Bryant, and JuJu. AB will do his thing, but if Bell gets going and Bryant and JuJu can take over for the inevitable double team on AB...

Mike Tomlin has 2nd best head coaching record with more than 1 seasons, but Leisher hates him.

Boy Gruden sure is low on that list.

Mike Tomlin is a paper champ. He's succeeding because of the talent on the field. Most coaches could do this well in the same situation. Some would be doing much better. I feel like we've wasted a lot of Ben's years because of bad coaching.

Watch how many terrible challenges he makes. How undisciplined his teams are. How unprepared, particularly against lesser opponents. He's not liked off the field in the Pittsburgh area, as I hear he's a major asshole that acts very entitled. And I'll never get over his attempt to trip Jacoby Jones during a game, claiming he was watching the big screen and didn't notice he was on the field.

If he wins the Super Bowl this year I'll give him a pass for 2 more years. After that, it's game back on.

And FYI, I liked Tomlin when he was hired. Over the years he's been losing credibility with me. That Jacoby Jones incident was my tipping point.

Not comparable though. The runner pretty clearly has possession, whereas the receiver often does not.

Interesting article on the future of the NFL. Kind of follows what I've thought for a while about the brain injuries, but this writer draws the parallels to boxing, which I had not considered before.
