This is possible. When will the investigation get released to Congress? Tomorrow could get interesting

I'm all about two sides to a story. I'm going to bed tonight and the best fox news can give me is that Pence is clean! That's good I guess?

Drumpf is Reagan's heir apparent. All hail our new orange overlord/despot. Long live making America greater than is possible to remember again.

The F.B.I. declined to comment. The White House also declined to comment Tuesday night, but earlier in the day, the press secretary, Sean Spicer, stood by Mr. Trump’s previous comments that nobody from his campaign had contact with Russian officials before the election.
Buried way down in paragraph eight is the quote that matters.
" “This is absurd,” he said. “I have no idea what this is referring to. I have never knowingly spoken to Russian intelligence officers...
This story could very well be akin to a story about Subway executives having repeated communications with a child porn trafficker. While technically true, there was nothing nefarious going on between Subway and Jared. The reason espionage works is because you don't know you're talking to a spy. I would almost promise that people within the Hillary camp had repeated communication with Russian intelligence as well.

I don't like Trump, but this shotgun approach from the media isn't helping them. I'm starting to think that 8 years of time off from journalism has left them unable to remember how to investigate.

Hillary went the convenience route and just gave them access to all of her email correspondence.

Apparently the FBI has Flynn on tape discussing the easing of U.S. sanctions with Russia before Trump took office. I believe that's classified as espionage. The incoming Presidential administration isn't allowed to do that sort of thing until they have officially taken office, until then they have no more legal right to divulge intelligence information to foreign powers than any other citizen would.

Release the tape. Then we can decide what is what. Might be, but I'd rather hear for myself than have FBI informants telling the press telling me what I should think was said.

I don't have the tape to release.

If there is an investigation then the FBI cannot release the tape until the trial.

I don't think that's true. If there are charges brought, they have to release the evidence they have to the defendant's attorney through discovery. Also, in order to bring charges they have to release at least some of the evidence in front of a grand jury for an indictment. Now it might not be smart to release some evidence before hand for fear of charges of a tainted jury pool. But this isn't like a vague "we have DNA evidence", this is them saying they have a recording of a conversation that the (presumed in the case) defendant was party to. This isn't going to be a surprise revelation in the tape. If there is, someone has been lying to their attorney which would be stupid.

At any rate, I don't trust any of them on either side. Play me the tape or charge him. Until then, I don't care to hear about it.

All this being said, I though Flynn was a pretty weak choice to begin with. The guy worked with RT for goodness sake.

I'll save my wishing for that other tape.

I woke up this morning to "NYT IS TRASH, FAKE" "LEAKS ARE THE DEVIL." Which is a massive about-face from the last time the NYT broke a story like this: Hillary's emails.

That would be funny.

I completely agree with the situational ethics on this being disgusting.

And hopefully no one actually believes those situational ethics are one-sided.

No, they aren't. Trump is just more blatant about it because his world view is divorced from reality.

I find his headbutting-against the judicial branch reminiscent of FDR's troubles with them with many of his New Deal plans.

FDR actually understood something about the process of law and was trained in it, which is how he was able to get many of his measures through in spite of opposition. Dipshit Drumpf is having these troubles because he has absolutely zero comprehension of any legal process.

I'd honestly feel a lot better if he'd just release his tax returns at this point. Some of this stuff is sort of fucking with my head.

The Russians don't even have to "control" Trump to win here right? They can just slowly let out some of the easier-to-confirm dossier stuff over a year period, let the USA go fucking nuts and laugh all the way to Eastern Europe.
