I wouldn't say "truth" because he's making a general statement, which is akin to "all [insert ethnicity here] are criminals", and such statements are bullshit. The fact that Alex Cole is far left and is taking a shot at someone who didn't have a scandal on their first day also contradicts his point.

I agree with the sentiment, but disagree with his take because he's simply making a statement based on his bigotry and hatred.

I don't like piling on the "ha ha look christians aren't perfect" arguments because I don't believe in giving muslims "well then they aren't real muslims then" a pass.

I will say that religions are not all equal.

Christians not being "perfect" is kind of their whole schtick. Isn't wearing the cross supposed to be a reminder to them? Just like the WWJD bracelets? (I don't know, I'm not a religious person.) Point being, they don't claim to be perfect, and are fully aware they sin and can otherwise be assholes.

Does that mean a lot of them don't act holier than thou? Fuck no. They're judgy cunts like anyone else, and a lot think that their faith does indeed give them the inside track to being "better". That's why I agreed with Alex Cole's sentiment. However, it's pretty obvious by whose picture he used and his Twitter timeline that Alex's statement was more about politics than religion.

I don't believe in deities, and have zero time for dogma, but I can appreciate (most) religions for being a worthy philosophy to follow.

The sheer arrogance of thinking priests and nuns were able to be "pure" via celibacy is probably reason #1 why there were so many molestations. The entire point of your religion is that men are fallible. Believing your people were somehow immune put a lot of innocents in harm's way.
