There is no stopping it. I don't believe in that. I DO believe in slowing it down. And by slowing it down, it gives us more time to find a treatment. A treatment that would save lives. Saving the lives of those that would have gotten it a lot earlier if nothing changed.

I feel like Florida should have been one of the first states to shut down and try to blunt their curve. I dread to think what it will be like in a few weeks.

I'm pretty sure gay sex was banned WAY before HIV. Accepting it is a pretty new thing.

Elon Musk magicked up 1,000 ventilators for California today. A big shipment of masks too. Good Billionaire.

Rep. Rashida Tlaib wants to mint two trillion dollar coins to cure the economic damage from the coronavirus.

This is making the rounds on the more left leaning sites. Some are hailing her as a genius. I guess they're not aware of the fact that she didn't come up with the idea first or the problems with it?

Who the fuck is still going on cruises right now?

https://www.cnn.com/travel/article/crui ... index.html

Both options on the table are bad but some combo might work - perhaps delay infection growth via stricter lock-downs, focus research on testing and treatments, and then stockpile medicine, figure out quarantine protocols for those at high risk, and then restart the economy. 3 month general lock-down. Support unemployed blue collar workers and small business, do not bail out Airlines, or Cruise Ships.

3 months in with no treatment breakthroughs and major cracks in the health care system?

To even get the economy back requires people feel comfortable spending money again. Especially outside in a social setting. When is that going to happen?

Texas' lieutenant governor said Monday night that the U.S. should get back to work in the face of the global pandemic and that people over the age of 70, who the Centers for Disease Control says are at higher risk for the coronavirus, will “take care of ourselves.”
He's 69.

That Texas dipshit can go fuck himself. So many of these asshats are exposing themselves to simply be corrupt puppets.

Meanwhile, here's some awesome news: The virus lived for up to 17 days in cruise ships after passengers left.

Authorities in places like San Jose and Castro Valley, Calif., ordered [gun] stores to close last week after they initially refused to shut their doors.

“Since we don’t live in the Wild West, where people are dependent on guns for food, and we do have a well-functioning police department, it would be hard to articulate a basis for arguing that a gun shop would be an essential service,” said San Jose Mayor Sam Liccardo.

Some states have disagreed and kept gun stores open while ordering other businesses to close, including Ohio, Kentucky, Illinois and Connecticut. The latter two states have Democratic governors who have supported gun control.
