A few of these Reddit thread comments blew my mind: https://www.reddit.com/r/pics/comments/ ... h_us_well/
Here in my city in China the delivery apps shut down for a day or two to get the drivers all sorted with masks/gloves and disinfectant. Restaurants like Pizza Hut were including the names and temperatures of cooks and delivery drivers of your order. Hope things get tightened up in the states. Restaurants couldn’t even stay open without getting the green light from police after a check to make sure employees were supplied with sanitizer and masks.
Just some tips from China where delivery guys became the backbone of self isolation:

All wore masks

They didn't physically hand it to people, they left it outside the door or down by the gate in high-rises

Temperatures were taken and written on a slip stapled to the delivery so you know throughout the chain of getting your food, no one had a fever.

Stations were set up where companies donated food and drink gifts to courier's, they could take one gift a day.

Although the Chinese courier and delivery is light-years ahead of Western countries, the above ideas could easily be used by any nation.

Some good thoughts on Grocery Stores in there too: (don't bring your whole family, stop touch and cough on things, don't leave kids unattended)

Is America disciplined enough to pull this off? It's looking... hopeful (?) in our part of California.

My company has fully implemented a rotating schedule that I started within my own department last week.

Now we have to report our temperatures each day before going into work.

The problem is you guys could be perfect, but if the rest of the country isn't doing it at the same time it won't matter.

We are already getting documents that will allow us to be out providing service to essential entities. Namely Walmart and CVS. They have to stay open to provide food and meds, and we help them do that. So even though the shutdown hasn't happened here yet. They are preparing for it. But then, given that they exist in places that already are shut down, it makes sense that we are being copied on it.

That being said, I've checked with everyone but one tech, and no one wants to work. I'm glad the techs are on board with a shut down. I don't have to feel bad about them not working now.

I have a letter I just printed off signed by our company president that authorizes me to travel for work as we're in an exempt industry.

8 states are locked down.

We need 42 more to join the fun.

We're slowly moving towards it. The county declared a state of emergency, but still a decent amount of traffic on the roads today.

US has overtaken Italy in cases/day

Michigan apparently just joined the lockdown plans Ohio put into place. Pretty sure other states are joining as well.

Canada just pulled out of the Olympics.

Japan is now admitting the Olympics might have to be postponed.

Trump is rolling out the National Guard in some areas.

That stimulus bill that failed... I don't know what to believe. I'm seeing reports (thanks to right wing Twitter exploding) that it was bipartisan and then Pelosi threw a monkey wrench into the deal late. No idea if that's true. If it is, fuck her for playing politics right now. If not, fuck the other side for playing politics. Honestly, I'm seeing very few politicians that are doing awesome right now. Maybe we should fire them all and make Mike DeWine the new president since he's being honored by both sides as the one doing the best job right now.

Side topic. . . DeWine said:
“We are Ohioans. We are Buckeyes. We are strong,” he said.
Did he just insult all the other schools, or does all of Ohio identify as Buckeyes? Do people going to Miami of Ohio dual identify as Redhawks AND Buckeyes? I couldn't imagine our governor saying "We are Wolverines (or Spartans, or whatever other mascots are here)".

Yes. It's the Buckeye state.

I haven't been able to find details of the bill being negotiated. The Democratic objections seems to be lots of $$$ spent on corporations instead of the people losing jobs.

Californians aren't listening to the lockdown order.

The virus needs a much higher death toll to get people's attention.

What exactly is a 'Stay at home order'? You can still go outside for walks, etc. Of course for food and care of others. They just don't want us going to work? Are restaurants staying open? What happens if you ignore the order?

So far in CA they have only enforcing by closing any park that people congregate at, and coming down hard on businesses that stays open or if they receive reports of an essential business isn't staying on top of hygiene. Not going after people - yet. There was that story in Kentucky about how they had to force an infected person to stay home...
